Naka Mountain area is in the northern part of Mengsong area (north of Nannuo mountains). It's one of the higher altitude tea growing areas in Menghai county reaching elevations of 2100 meters. Our offering is from 100+ year old tea trees growing at about 1950-2000 meters.

We have often encountered Naka teas, but up until now I didn't feel moved to press one. Either the quality was not so good, or the price was too high in relation to the quality. This is a Spring 2023 first flush tea plucked in mid-April.

This is a bitter tea with some Mengsong character, but also with a high mountain fragrance and taste that reminds me somewhat of a Lao Cong Dan Cong, but with a solid classical pu-erh tea core. Returning sweetness, potent cha qi and a golden tea soup.

Perfect

"This tea (and the 22 Naka Beauty) tastes like half oolong, half puer. Scott's description is spot on. Really smooth, fragrant, and totally drinkable now... you can bring out some nice bitterness if you push it, but overall it's mild. This tea is INCREDIBLY stimulating. As someone who goes out of my way to find energizing teas, this is definitely the strongest, most stimulating tea I've ever had. For the price this tea is unbeatable."

I Like Bunnies!

"Bunnies are cute, perhaps with the exception of the bunny in Monty Python and the Holy Grail, although depending upon your temperament, that bunny could be considered cute as well. This tea is not really cute, but it's delicious and potent. I bought a single cake and have enjoyed it so much that I ended up buying a tong. This is one that has the strength to age well, but it's still approachable in its youth. Very good tea! Did I mention that I like bunnies? I really do, though not as much as hedgehogs. Until the Chinese zodiac is reformulated to include a hedgehog, I'll just kick back and relax with Naka Warrior. But yeah, bunnies are cute."
