Ku Zhu Mountain is near Wenshan village about 7 kilometers southeast of Jing Gu town in Pu'er prefecture (previously known as Simao).

Ku Zhu mountain tea is strong and is much more bitter than their sweeter Yang Ta (another Jing Gu area) counterpart.  The taste is something a marriage between Jing Gu and Mengku teas, but entirely unique.  From 100+ year old tea trees growing naturally.  A premium wild arbor tea with excellent aging possibilities!

400 grams per cake, 7 cakes per bamboo leaf tong

April 2017 Harvest (only 50 kilograms produced)

This tea has been tested in a certified laboratory for 191 pesticides, and is within the EU MRL limits set for those 191 pesticide residues. For a full list of the 191 pesticides we tested for and more information about MRL testing and the EU Food and Safety commission click on this link.

香气四溢

"非常喜欢生普洱的香气,这款茶香气很好,口感滋味强烈,不习惯的可以投量少一些,这样就更清甜,包装设计很赞,收藏起来。"

Bitter Bamboo Mountain

"I love bitterness and floral character in young sheng and this one has it in spades! I bought a whole cake as a sample and I am loving it. Plenty to love here! Complex, powerful, strong feeling and long lasting kou gan!"

Bittersweet

"Taste of the tea is quite bitter but only very mild sour notes. Sweetness follows after the first initial bite of bitterness fades. The tea has some harshness to it that not everyone might enjoy, definitely not a smooth tea but not a punch in the gut either. Cha Qi is quite mild and doesn't effect me that much but it's there. Doesn't taste as green as some other very young sheng puerh. The leaves look very chopped up almost like machine picked tea but not quite. Because of the increased surface area of the broken leaves I recommend to take a lower amount of tea per volume and reduce the infusion time or else the bitterness will be quite overwhelming. Although I like the tea and it's punchyness I personally wouldn't pay this high price for it especially considering the poor leaf integrity. For my personal taste and preferences there are much cheaper alternatives (on this site) that suit me better and I'm glad that I purchased a sample first which I would advise everyone to do before committing to a whole cake. With some aging this tea might transform some of it's harshness into something else but no one could really know that."

Punchy!

"A very nice balance of bitter and sweet."

Jinggu Tea .

"Smells delicous. Long aftertaste. Even after having food the Tea taste stays in your mouth. But its not that super bitter. 😁 Any young dayi blend has more bitterness. The tea is very young so i wouldnt judge it to much yet. Will be interesting to taste this again after 2~3 years once the aroma develops more and matches the scent. The mouthfeel is already there and it got some chaqi as well. Not overpowering strong but i did feel it in my face / neck and back a bit. The leaves look healthy. Olive green in color . Some are small some a big bitter. A couple are broken but not chopped up like a factory tea."
