Bai Hua Di village (Hundred Flower Village) is located in the far west of Jing Gu county of Simao, just near the border of Jinggu County and Mengku County (Lincang) just a few kilometers from the Lancang (Mekong) river.  The leaves used for our production come from the oldest tea trees in the area (80-250 years old).  The tea was picked in first week of October during the dry cool sunny weather that follows the end of the monsoon season in southern Yunnan.

This is a very strong tea, in terms of aroma, taste and cha qi!  Strong thick body, pungent complex mouth-feel, with a full bouquet of floral, nutty, sweet, bitter and astringent qualities.  A tea worthy of aging, but thoroughly enjoyable to supplicants of young sheng.  The leaves and stems are very burly and attest to their old tree origins.

400 grams per cake (7 cakes per bamboo leaf tong)

50kg in total produced

Tropical sunshine with strong Qi

"Bouquet: Within its dry stage a very fresh floral and sweet atmosphere unfolds its magic especially inside those honey and beeswax fractions. Talking about its steaming condition a very deep and thick veggie character with a slightly chocolate-hazelnut note to it dominates this new warm environment. Liquor: First thing "Cane sugary sweetness" and second thing "You can't over steep it"- There is no bitterness in an unpleasant way the only thing you're going to notice if you steep it too long is a certain spiciness to it. Very fruity symphony of Thai mango, jackfruit, cheery blossoms, slightly notes of honey melon, cherry gums, subtle aspects of pineapple and passion fruit. Passing this first big landmark of marvelous tropical compositions you climb up to its next stage of hay & fresh blooming herbal field flowers as far as you eyes can reach plus slightly woodsy notes of bamboo not smokey more like fresh cut bamboo with a touch of vanilla to it. But the major aspect of this highly addictive and mouth watering act is definitely the huge fruit basket. The aftertaste is just breathtaking and so intense like a never ending echo full of tropical sunshine aka fruit especially jackfruit, red apple, honey melon and mango. This buddy forgives a lot and does really not turn in any way into something bitter even if you forget about time and steep it too long. Later those herbal and fruity aspects transforms into even new categories like strawberry and blackberry leaves plus actual hints of blackberry and especially black currants. Very strong tea with a massive amount of Qi - this buddy pushes your energy level up to its max! There is a lot to discover and not easily giving up its full complex flavors! A magnificent & masterfully composed Sheng - definitely gonna order a whole cake in the near future. More Reviews & Photos at https://www.instagram.com/zerozen_artlab/"
