Entirely new production of Da Yi ripe called "金果" or Golden Fruit.  It refers to the Peach of Immortality that grows in the orchard of the Celestials.  The very peach that Sun Wukong stole and ate in "Journey to the West".

The idea was to create a peach taste in the ripe pu-erh.  At this early stage it's hard to taste peach but there is a fruitiness thats developing in the tea and that long-lasting feeling in the mouth that transforms into sweet on the tongue.

Мягкий, приятный чай

"Очень приятный, мягкий чай. Не ожиданный приятный сюрприз от этого пуэра."

This tea is on the

"This tea is on the stronger side with deep notes in taste and aroma. Due to its bold character I prefer brewing this pu-erh in the evening hours, preferably after a meal. Suitable for the right occasion, but for me definitely not a daily driver for every morning."

after a day of airing

"after a day of airing this is a nice ripe, creamy texture as I like shou best."

Good fruit tones.

"This tea is cheap and has good fruit tones with a standard ripe puerh background. For myself, its not particularly interesting or complex and I would honestly recommend other ripe puerhs (basically almost any ripe puerh from Scott is still at this price) unless you specifically want a balanced fruity flavor in ripe puerh. The tea is very young and I imagine it will develop so disregard this advice if you just want to age it."

Fantastic!

"A wonderful tea, especially for the price. I especially loved the smell of the leaves after soaking -- it was almost a faint leather odor. Very enjoyable tea to have after dinner."

Golden indeed!

"I'll admit it, I mostly bought this cake for the pretty wrapper. But the tea holds up! Taste is earthy with a hints dried dates. Needs more time for the fermentation flavors to fade, but I think this is a good tea and well priced."

Superb

"Great smooth taste. And very invigorating also!"

But of course, another Menghai success !!!!!!

"I just love the flavor and fermentation of this tea. Who ever the tea master was that developed the recipe for this tea surely will receive a bonus and a reward. Not sure of the leaf size used in this tea, but whatever was used gives a perfect balance of sweetness and boldness . After receiving this tea almost a month ago i decided to give it a go and am totally satisfied with the results, but i am betting if i am able to give this tea 2-5 years of aging it will get better and better with time. Don't get me wrong, this tea is good enough to drink right now, but i am also excited to see what it may become. I am truly enjoying this tea era we are experiencing !!!! Scott Wilson is producing some of the best shou puerh i have ever tasted and Menghai is continuing their craft as well. Throw in some Nan Jian etc. factories into the mix, and us as consumers are probably living in the 'best' times of shou puerh. Life is good. Tea on"
