A lovely large Gaiwan with heft and capacity!  Features a matte black glazing with some textured feel (not totally smooth).  The inner part and inner lid of the gaiwan are a beige/cream colored glaze.

Great for a big, cheap and pretty Gai Wan!

"It is big, simple and beautiful! It goes really well with the hodge-podge GongFu setup I have now. The only issue I have with the Gaiwan is the leaf isn't a carving into the actual ceramic, but a piece of metal stuck into the side. That being said, it was put on well and won't be coming off. However, I can see how it could be put on wrong and how it could be a problem (especially if they're factory produced, but I haven't done enough research to know if that is the case), but I only have nice things to say about it :)"

Very elegant

"I got this gaiwan to replace my old one that just broke (a cheap Amazon gaiwan). I've really been enjoying this new one. It's a little thicker and heavier, and looks really nice. My original concerns were 1.) that the silver leaf would wear off, and 2.) that the finish would feel chalky. Neither of these are an issue at all. The silver leaf is an actual piece of metal adhered to the surface; not a printed pattern, and the finish is far from chalky. It's more like a slightly bumpy surface than what you probably think of a typical matte finish, so it's still very smooth, but doesn't reflect the light so specularly."

"I love the design, which to me is the perfect blend of simplicity and style. From what I learned about gaiwans it has all the properties that mark a good one, but it is my first gaiwan, so I have nothing to compare it to. I had to practice a bit but am now able to pour the contents almost without spilling. Now I would really love to get my hands on the rest of the set. Alas I could not find it anywhere on the internets."
