Kunlu Mountain area is south-east from Jinggu town in Simao (halfway to Ning'er).  Kunlu Mountain has many old tea trees and alot of old plantation and tea growing at an altitude of 1500-1700 meters.

This 2013 Spring harvested brick was pressed from old plantation bushes and small trees, pressed into these uniquely long and narrow bricks and then stored in Jinggu until July of 2020 (then Kunming).   The Jinggu storage (warmer and more humid than Kunming) has given this tea a wonderfully sweet and fruity character while still preserving the Kunlu cool, mild chocolate bitter, and lightly astringent terroir.

Good liked alot

"This was hard to break up but once I did it was very thick and tasty brews quite a treat not like a ripe but almost"

Where'd it go?

"I tend to drink up bitter tea real fast due to the large amounts of fatty meats I eat. So, yeah, glamourous mealtime tea for sure. I remember it enough. Def real good mealtime tea, but kinda disappeared too fast imho, but it's only 250 g's, so that's my fault."

Very good!

"I got a sample of this two years ago. I tried it before it had time to settle down, didn't think it was that good, and threw it in storage for 2 years. Now it has had more than enough time to settle down, and what an amazing tea! Sweet, bitter (chocolatey like the description) and astringent all in one. Such a full-bodied and thick mouthfeel, with the chocolate notes, makes this tea an incredible treat. I definitely can see a brick in my future! And I'm slowly learning to let my tea breathe for a month or two before trying it. :)"

Nice indeed

"Som shengs in my experience can become somewhat boring when they enter the semi-aged territory. Not this one: It's still very much alive, stimulating in the mouth, has lots of good bitterness and that particular fresh juiciness of a young sheng which is one of the most enjoyable things in the world - and the reason why I mostly drink young sheng. After 8 years the taste profile and aroma is starting to change significantly but it hasn't lost strength or activity and is still very aromatic. I'll probably get a brick of this in my next order."

Wonderful Kunlu Mountain Raw!

"This is a very well balanced, highly aromatic tea. Very good bitterness increases from second to fourth steep. Thereafter the bitter fades, making room for lovely fruity notes. Astringency is present throughout but never disturbs the delicate balance of this tea. Highly recommended and great value for money!"

Ok

"Not quite aged enough yet I'm storing for a while."
