Dehong Purple Leaf varietal.

An incredibly fantastic raw Pu-erh made from Wild Pu-erh tree leaves that have a dark purple color.  This 野生茶 (Wild Tea) is naturally dark in color.

The quality of the leaves and the meticulous processing ensures excellent storage and aging potential.  The infused liquor is golden and is almost completely without bitterness. There is strong full taste in the mouth and a warm stimulating feel in the mouth and body after drinking this tea.

This tea brick is composed of entirely spring 2011 raw material from the exact same area as the 2005, 2008, and 2010 production.  This year Yunnan Sourcing is proud to be the exclusive producer and distributor of this very special tea!  We have produced just 400 bricks in total!  This years production has been hand-stamped with the year "2011" to help us and you differentiate it from previous years.

Great Tea

"I was all wrong about this tea. I was inexperienced making Raw Puerh. Once I got the hag of it i’m the biggest fan. You don’t need much in the Gaiwan. Just 3 gr my 140 ml is plenty. Now I only want PuErh Tea. Raw or Ripe, Young or Old I’m a PuErh Fan. ☮️💜 Purple Too!"

Fruity balanced wild purple Pu Erh

"Very good sheng Pu Erh for me, good balance between the different layers of taste . And a positive energy in the morning . Thinking to get a whole cake next time ! Thanks !"

Incredible tea

"Strong flavor of concord grape and spice and lychee. I like purple teas. I like the big flavor and thick texture and oily ghee feeling. This tea is clearly a purple tea but much more complex and subtle than most. The aroma on the first brew filled the whole tea area. Remarkable."

Wonderful Dehong Tea

"I really enjoy this tea! Smooth, no bitterness to speak of, and good energy. I would say that the only downside would be longevity compared to some other puerhs."

Soft

"I've been drinking a cake of sheng about every three weeks for a couple of years and that includes a bunch of purples. Usually with purples I find the taste too big and bitter. This tea is one of the most subtle Pu erh teas that I have drunk. It brews to a light golden yellow, has a complex mouth feel and noticeable energy in the body. It's not for those who like strong flavoured teas, but I love it. I drink Pu erh in perhaps an odd way. I have at least two varieties going in my little Yixing teapots and move from one to the other all day. Im saturated in it. In terms of steeps, I get about 6 steeps from this tea, brewed Gong fu method, but really, that's all I need. There are other shengs that seem inexhaustible, but I don't think this is one of those."
