I had a sample size of this tea from several years back, which I drank today, 9/11/17. According to my notes, it was priced at $139 for an entire cake at that time (currently $249).

Excellent but expected more at this price.

This is a well-aged shou with a mild woody/resinous character. Very nice “milky” mineral notes, slight petrichor and a soft/smooth mouthfeel. Aroma is woody and resinous, reminiscent of rosewood.

A pleasant daily drinker that isn’t

This is a nice, enjoyable aged ripe that tastes the way that an aged ripe should: earthy, thick, smooth, satisfying and pretty long-lasting. It’s solid but fairly ordinary and unspectacular.
