Pure Silver .999 Teapot for Gong Fu Tea Brewing.  Expertly crafted in Yunnan (Qujing County) this pure silver teapot combines function and beauty with an elegant flair.  Crafted by Yunnan's most skilled silversmiths in Qujing county (a place with more than 1500 years history in smithing fine silver objects), this teapot will perfect your gong fu cha tea brewing experience!  It is believed that silver provides the best possible medium for water and tea to meet.  This is .999 silver, which is the highest grade purity possible.  The teapot has been tested before sale to ensure a good lid fit and flow.  Have you ever had your heart broken by dropping your favorite clay teapot?  Not to worry, this teapot will never break even if you drop it!  You'll be able to pass it down to your children!

The handle is a type of ebony hardwood that is cool to the touch and very durable!  There can be a slight gap between where the handle meets the body of the teapot to prevent dry rot.  This is intentional!

Great little pot ... money VERY well spent

"I've been brewing teas in all sorts of materials, partially in slightly larger silver teapots for decades and everytime I've checked the selection on YS my favorite models have been sold out until ... Just received this little beauty in the mail two weeks ago and couldn't be happier. First things first, from my point of view the workmanship is top notch, this is just a beautiful thing to touch and behold and it sure will last a lot longer than my ageing body. Capacity wise my pot sits at the lower end of the advertised 140ml (+-10%) at about 130ml max. (overflow) and ~125ml under the upper rim; something I hoped for, just ideal for me. Pouring time is rather fast at about ~11 sec for H2O, I didn't notice a singe drop escaping from the lid during the pour ... excellent. Meanwhile I've used it for all sorts of teas but since this pot holds the temperature pretty well I'd make sure to adapt the temp. of the brewing water so as not to overheat sensitive leaves. Taste wise this pot (silver) definitely pronounces teas differently than any of my other xy vessels but I'd need some more time with it to come to a meaningful conclusion, there are just so many other factors at play here; suffice to say that I wouldn't want to miss it in my collection. Since it hasn't been mentioned in the description; this pot comes in a really nice, rather large bamboo box plus a cotton drawstring pouch to protect it from scratches. Bottom line ... money VERY well spent."

This elevated my tea practice

"If you have the money, I highly recommend getting yourself a silver teapot. I cannot stop grabbing this every morning to brew my gongfu cha. There are flavors and aromas that get pulled out from brewing in silver versus other materials because of the incredible heat retention. So far I have brewed all sorts of sheng shou, oolongs (dancong and Taiwanese mainly), aged whites, and dian hongs and it has not disappointed me yet. A special thanks to YS for offering such a beautifully crafted silver pot (with an incredible pour) for such an affordable price."

Silver Pot

"The craftsmanship of the pot is stunning. It pours perfectly. I really like using it with shou and roasted oolong. Aged sheng works fairly well, but the younger sheng tends to get too bitter, unless flash brewed. I would definitely pickup another pot from YS in the future, if I ever decide to grab another one. Ps. I love the new setup to the website. It makes it easier to find stuff."

Wonderful Entry Level .999 Pure Silver Teapot

"My first pure Silver tea pot! The craftsmanship of the silversmithing is beautiful. Comes with Assay card / Certificate of Authenticity, and lovely Bamboo Box. Great teapot for exploring the depth of flavor , especially the ripe Pu-erh Teas. Excellent long term keepsake. Very pleased and hope to purchase another one in the future."

Great teapot and good value

"An aesthetically pleasing and functional pot. Great pour and thermal conduction. The lid fits perfectly. It’s suitable for teas that benefit from hot brewing. I happily recommend it to anyone searching for a silver pot that won’t break the bank."

A Great silver Teapot!

"Capacity is more in the 115 ml range. Slightly leak at the beginning of the pour, (very fast pour). The craftmanship is excelent. The wood handle is very efficient in protecting the hand from heat. The effect of silver in tea is notorious, with sheng Pu-erh i can notice new layers of flavors that i cant taste when brewing the same tea in a Yixing Teapot. A beautiful Teapot that makes great tea. Recomended."
