Pure Silver .999 Teapot for Gong Fu Tea Brewing.  Expertly crafted in Yunnan (Qujing County) this pure silver teapot combines function and beauty with an elegant flair.  Crafted by Yunnan's most skilled silversmiths in Qujing county (a place with more than 1500 years history in smithing fine silver objects), this teapot will perfect your gong fu cha tea brewing experience!  It is believed that silver provides the best possible medium for water and tea to meet.  This is .999 silver, which is the highest grade purity possible.  The teapot has been tested before sale to ensure a good lid fit and flow.  Have you ever had your heart broken by dropping your favorite clay teapot?  Not to worry, this teapot will never break even if you drop it!  You'll be able to pass it down to your children!

The handle is a type of ebony hardwood that is cool to the touch and very durable!  There can be a slight gap between where the handle meets the body of the teapot to prevent dry rot.  This is intentional!

Silver type: 0.999 Pure

Total Weight of Silver Used in the Teapot: 150grams (+/- 5 grams)

Excellent pot!

"After getting Bao Zun (~80ml - perfect for solo or 2 persons) I've joined the club of pure-siler-freaks. I've decided to go for a bigger one as well for 3+ persons. "Lotus Gift" turned out to be great choice. On top of the standard benefits of silver (pure phisics of solid state material appropriate for brewing with lowest heat capacity, meaning it consumes lowest energy to get to the temperature of water, so ensures highest temperature for the brew or lowest losses on warming-up; additionally helped by thin walls and close-to-sphere shape - improving the heat retention) and known positive effects on tea clarity/detail/texture; it is an excellent work of art. Pour is trully excellent and super-fast, thanks to huge ball filter and excellent shape of short spout. On a negative side I can only indicate two things, not really an issue, rather a note to consider. One: the tip of the lid looks nice, but is rather small and not a perfect heat isolator - so even avoiding the silver knot in the middle you can find the green tip getting quite warm in 3rd consekutive/fast brew. Two: the handle is made of nice and hard wood - working and isolating really well, however the part of handle at the top, close to the bowl is pure silver - so you will quickly learn how warm it gets if your thinger slips there (it does slip there naturally at first - then you learn - or develop heat resistance in your palms :) )"
