This Gong Ting grade ripe tea is a from a wet pile batch done entirely from Bu Lang Mountain (Menghai County) tea leaves harvested in 2017 and wet piled in 2018!

Gong Ting grade ripe pu-erh tea is the smallest leaf grade, has a very potent cha qi, with a thick tea soup, dark chocolate like bitterness and fruity sweetness.

The Bu Lang origins give this tea a sweetness and complexity that is totally unique to Bu Lang ripe pu-erh teas.

For those of you who purchase this tea during the year of 2018 expect that there will be a fairly strong wet pile taste throughout 2018, but one that will fade gradually as tea ages.  Remember pu-erh increases in palatability and complexity with age!  In Chinese we refer to this as 越陈越香.

Epic tea

"What a wonderful tea! Deep, rich dark taste. Gentle chocolate aroma. Price for this tea is super cheap for such amazing tea experience."

Personality with a balance

"I've tried the 2 other gong ting (meng song and jingmai) and this one is by far my favorite. There is a very nice balance chocolaty smoothness. The color of the liquor is very dark, close to black. The change of taste is not as dramatic than with cakes during the first months. It can get too chocolaty the first weeks but then the balance comes back. I've ordered a big bag as it's just an easy go-to when you want a dark tea. Personality with a balance"

Great tea and good value

"Great tea and good value for a daily drinker! Chocolatey, and rich."

Grayson H. (5/5)

super fine leaves

"Opens up into a lovely chocolately ripe puer."

Justin H. (5/5)

Great price

"Wasn't sure what to expect when I ordered some of this, but was a pleasant surprise. It does have a bit of wet pile aroma, but it almost entirely washed out after a rinse. Smooth and syrupy texture, with notes of herbs, butter, campfire and dark chocolate. Also, expect a good caffeine buzz due to the fine grade of the leaf!"
