An early Hai Lang Hao (Ming Xiang Ya Yuan Mark) ripe pu-erh tea production. Pressed in 2004 from Menghai area 2002 wet-piled tea, this has been aged in Kunming since 2004. With almost a decade and a half of dry aging, this has an incredibly aromatic, crisp and clean character to it. Tea soup is an ultra-clear burgundy hue. Goes many, many steeps, with each steeping delivering a uniquely nuanced experience!

"Bought this brick in 2021. Tasted it then laid it down until fall of 23. Just finished off. Deep complex flavors make this one stand out. Dried mission fig, medjool date, Brazil nut, camphor, dried cherry. Flavor comes in layers. Creates a special pleasant feeling in the mouth that’s hard to describe. Finishes long and it has that returning sweetness that remind you of your session throughout the day."

"This is a ripe Pu-erh that will take you out of your normal comfort zone with it's unique aroma and flavor. It is crisp clean and really well balanced tea that quickly releases its flavors. It is that aroma and flavor that is different. For me the aroma and flavor is that of Chrysanthemum. That flavor is nicely balanced and does not overpower. That is the beauty of this tea. A nice balance of what a new aroma and flavor to enjoy should be. A mild Hui Gan lingers slighty to remind you. There is a nice sweetness that develops that adds to the complexity of this tea. This an excellent mature quality tea that expands your horizons. A nice addition to anyone's pu-erh library. I did get a second cake of this so I can enjoy this tea on a regular basis when I want to wake up my tastebuds and remind me of the specturm of flavors available."

Clean and aromatic

"This is a pretty fascinating aged ripe. It opened up pretty quickly with two rinses with boiling water, and released a strong aroma that is difficult to describe, with hints of sweet and savory baked goods, maybe a hint of sweet/clean tobacco, and a burly aroma that's hard to place. There's no "storage aroma", nothing dank about this. While the appearance of the sample looked a little unclean, as soon as water hit it, it broke up into beautiful dark leaves that produced a clear dark burgundy color as described and shown above. The brew is thick, the flavor is sweet with some very mild bitterness, with the fragrance following fully through to the flavor. Very interesting and worth a try, even if you don't typically like ripes with this much age."
