Jingmai Mountain area is a large area in the southern part of Lancang county of Simao Prefecture.  There are more than 50 villages in the Jingmai mountain range, almost all are involved in tea cultivation and processing.  Our Jingmai Wild Arbor tea is made from a naturally occurring Jingmai assamica varietal that is naturally hybridized and smaller in scale than pure assamica.

The tea brews up a chocolate and floral sweetness much like a Zheng Shan Xiao Zhong, but with it's own unique character.

I’m very impressed with this

"I’m very impressed with this tea. The flavour is beautifully balanced — it’s rich and satisfying, yet not overpowering. What really stands out are the delicate subtle notes: I can detect hints of [например: citrus, honey, floral, orchard fruit, woody undertones] that unfold as the tea cools. It’s a truly sophisticated cup that I’m happy to enjoy slowly."

Good for everyday tea

"Flavour was just okay for me- seems like an everyday tea, but I normally drink pu-erh and found myself missing that! Just nothing that stood out about it"

A super yummy every day

"A super yummy every day tea."

enjoyable black tea

"An enjoyable black tea. Using the gaiwan method, it withstands six infusions: the first four with 90 °C water and the last two with 100 °C. The liquor has a light orange-brown color. In the flavor, I detect notes of berry fruits with a sweet, slightly cinnamon-like background. I don’t perceive any chocolate flavor, but the sweetness is intriguing and complex — something I’ve also encountered in other Yunnan black teas. Overall, it’s definitely pleasant and entirely free of bitterness."

Lovely, hearty, cacao-like aroma and flavor

"This has become my newest daily drinker. It has a hearty cacao aroma and flavor with a hint of malt. It has a nice full body that goes down easy. The caffeine level is perfect for my morning cuppa western style, but it also brews up very nicely gong fu style if I end up having a little more time to sit and enjoy the cha qi."

Chocolate covered flowers

"Excellent daily drinker black tea with some age! I like to gong fu this in a small clay teapot starting with very quick pour-in-pour-out and gradually lengthening the steeps. This brewing method seems to bring out the subtleties of malt, nuts and chocolate with a floral aftertaste. I get a solid 8 rounds. Typical calmly alert and sweaty Yunnan Black cha qi for me."

Great tea for every day.

Excellent tea

"This tea really is exceptional and it is on my list to buy more of it. I've generally found that I'm liking the wild arbors more than the cultivated varieties, they have a richer taste."

Jonathan D. (5/5)

Complex, rich and sweet.

"This is one of those teas that you will appreciate more if you sit and pay attention as it changes in your cup (assuming you are brewing gongfu style). The dry leaves smell of sweet Chocolate flavored milk and cassia bark. As you brew it you can taste the traditional hay-ish and bovine aroma of the red tea, this will dissipate quickly as the leaves open to give way to malty notes, milky chocolate, woodiness, maple syrup and a slight medicinal aroma. Powerful Cha Qi so be sure to eat something before you drink it or it may upset your stomach."
