"Da Wu Ye" known as Big Black Leaf grows almost exclusively in Phoenix Village in the Wu Dong Mountains of Guangdong. Da Wu Ye is a medium leaf varietal and natural hybrid of local "Ya Shi Xiang" bushes and "Shui Xian" varietal. The winter harvest is called "Snowflake Dan Cong" and has the lowest harvest quantity per bush of any Dan Cong.

The processing style is low-medium oxidation giving it a mixed green-red style leaf. There is a natural sweet creamy taste with a floral after-finish.

Good tea!

"A refined Dan Cong. I put a little more of it in my tea pot and drink it for hours, gong fu style"

Tomo H. (5/5)

Somewhat on the light side

"Somewhat light but still very flavorful. Woodsy and floral."

Paul S. (5/5)

Balanced but full

"The wet leaf smell has a sort of deep sweet, almost tropical fruit note with an earthy walnut brightness. The tea itself has a lovely rich gold orange liqueur that is full bodied, slightly drying, sweet and floral finish, with a lasting sweet aftertaste. A quick evolution that can handle extended steep times in the later brews. Overall I feel this has a very unique flavor profile that is well balanced and full bodied."

Charlie B. (5/5)

Balanced Dan Cong

"This is a very balanced DC with plenty of floral notes, but also a fruity sweet center. Roast level is medium from my experience with DC. I get many steeps from this tea and there is a long lasting huigan."

Frederick B. (5/5)

quite light, not enough rosted

"I am a bit disappointed by this Dancong. It's too light. Noticeable flowery notes. The fruity notes are not pronounced, to the countray to a classical DaWuYe, which is reputated for its dark, mature fruity notes, red grappe notes. I was looking forward to drinking a nice smoky, chocolated Bourgogne (Pinot Noir), finally i am impression of having received a quite light young Gewürztraminer."

Da Wu Ye Dancong (aka snowflake dancong winter harvest)

"Delicous Dancong. Big fan of this variety. Typically shuixian flavors. I would say its more bold if compared with a almond dancong or something else more “exclusive“. I like this one. Flavor is rather difficult to describe but for me its a bit the “sheng of the dancong“ teas. Some big tea leafs in there, healthy looking. No dust. Will definitely buy again. Scott and his wife are awesome."
