This is a ripe pu-erh Xiaguan FT Production of the Mushroom "Jin Cha" (tight tea).  Tea harvested from Lincang area of Yunnan was wet piled for 40 plus days and then pressed into these mushroom shaped tuo.

Xiaguan "Bao Yan" (aka Tibetan Flame or Holy Flame) ripe teas are robust, earthy and sweet with a camphor aroma.  Very smooth and enjoyable ripe tea that can be aged more if you'd like, or enjoyed now!

Lives up to the name

"This ripe is very marshy, (in a good way!lI did 15 second steeps the first time and I think doing 10 seconds with 100 ⁰C worked best for me to coax out the heaviness out slowly."

Very nice!

"It's a great tea. Doesn't have as many steeps in it as I'd like but it's got a good malty funk to it."

The softly and charming Ripe

"The influence for my body and mind of the Mushroom Tuo is amazing for me. It is softly drinking tea, with lovely nuts in taste and I like beautiful and unusual form of it :)"

Long live Xiaguan!

"I have had many Xiaguan production teas durning my 'tea career' and most of them I liked. This lovely mushroom tuo is no exception. Treat it with respect and you will be rewarded. What I mean to say is that this is a ripe with a strong and heavy cha chi. Push it too much and it will reveal its full force to you. If handled with care though, this is a wonderful tea, ready to be enjoyed now. I think though, that it will get even better in the years to come."
