A very pleasant surprise

"I bought several bulang ripes to do a sampling of the area, only tried 3 of 7 so far but this one punches above it's price tag. It's got the deep robust shou flavour that I like, wood and earth which lightens to a subtle fruitiness as the tea brews over infusions. I get 8 - 12 infusions depending on how I'm feeling on the day, that's with 5g in a Jianshui pot which pours about 75 ml of tea."

Thick and earthy

"I purchased a sample of all for the cakes in this collection in this would be the second one I'm trying after the Meng song. The tea the tea is thick with a very viscous flavour. I found the dry Leaf to have aroma's similar to hot cocoa mix, damp tree bark with the sweet aroma. The wet Leaf I found to be much more earthy than the dry leaf with the wet bark really coming through and smells of Rich moist garden soil with very faint notes of the sweet hot chocolate mix but not nearly as powerful as on the dry leaf. The soup is very thick and very malty. The maltiness of the tea seems to be persistent throughout all infusions. I found this soup to have a slight medicinal type of flavour and detected notes of eucalyptus in the background. The earthiness detected on the dry and wet Leaf was very much present with flavours that reminded me of a damp tree bark, wet Forest Woods and soil on a damp or rainy day. I didn't really detect any notes of dried fruit but that might just have been me and my palate. It's a good tea for everyday drinking it's warm comforting it has wonderful energy."

Bought The Sample, Returned For The Cake!

"Such a thick, smooth mouthfeel, with fruity, almost rum-like notes. An absolute must-have for the wet and windy weather we're experiencing here in the south-east of England at the moment. A dream of a tea, which I hope to buy plenty more of in the future before it all runs out!"
