We are proud to offer a Certified Organic Black Tea from Yunnan.  This tea was grown in the area of Simao and was harvested in April.

This Black Tea (二级红茶) is a Yunkang #10 varietal growing at and altitude 1300 meters (4300 feet) on the southern slope Ma Wei Mountain (just west of Pu'Er City).  The processing is typical of black tea with sun withering, rolling, oxidization (about 3 hours)  and finally drying.

This is a classic "Robust" style Yunnan Black, with a 2 leaf to 1 bud plucking style.  The taste is strong with some chocolate, fruit and vegetal notes.  The leaf and bud composition gives the tea a complex and full-bodied robust taste and mouth-feel. It can be brewed 6 to 8 times gong fu style

Our Yunnan Sourcing Certified Organic teas are certified organic by EcoCert SA and are certified organic to international standards (EcoCert is IFOAM accredited).**

Great tea

"The taste is wholesome, with light acidity note. The effect is fulfilling, warming. Brewed with gaiwan."

An excellent tea for malty Yunnan tea lovers!

"Brewed as done in the west for 3.5 to 4 minutes @ 100º C., this is a most delicious red tea in the style I like. I find it to be full bodied, but not excessively so. The malt & cacao notes are definitely dominant flavors. As mentioned in the description, it holds up well to more than a single infusion. The organic certification is an added and appreciated bonus. Perhaps my favorite tea of the 2024 harvest I've sampled so far from Yunnan Sourcing and other tea purveyors."

Great organic red tea for daily drinking

"Even though it is fancy grade, it has a very nice malty flavour and a pleasant warming chi. (to me) I enjoy drinking it in the afternoon or evening to wind down after work."

So pleased with this tea.

"Last month I ordered small amounts of different teas and selected this one as my favorite. I was hoping for an organic black tea that I liked and this one surpassed all expectations. I placed an order for a kilo and was surprised by how quickly it arrived. Thank you so much for your amazing selection of teas."

Good tea

"It's a really good value for money, for the beginner to appreciate Yunnan red teas. Cannot describe the notes, unfortunately, like other reviewers, but I would highly recommend this tea, and would definitely buy it again."
