This is one of the highest quality Lao Ban Zhang that Hai Lang has ever produced.   This year's cake is made from first flush of Spring material which was harvested from the oldest trees in Lao Ban Zhang village which are between 250 and 400 years old.  The picking and processing was overseen by Hai Lang himself.  At each stage he managed the processing to make sure the picking, wilting, kill-green, rolling and sun-drying stages were all done to perfection!

 

Strong Ban Zhang flavor... moderate bitterness, little/no astringency and fast hui gan!  This tea is intense more in its feeling than its flavor!

  

All cakes stone-pressed.  Just 84 cakes produced in total!

"Ok. I thought the descriptions were hype. But this morning’s session with my buddy was certainly intense. We were high— but clear, focused and productive. Taste was bitter then sweet then strongly mineral— all in the bulang flavor profile. If it were half the price i would buy a cake without hesitation even though my price limit is usually $100."

"At first glance there is nothing special in this tea. Taste is very bitter, aroma is grass. It's premium qulaity raw puer for unreal price... That's all. But then you understand the Mystery of Lao Ban Zhang. The condition is unbelievable. One step and you get feelings like after an hour meditation. After second step I got a clean mind...
