This is a 2018 wet piled tea from Mang Fei Mountain area of Yong De (Lincang).  Entirely first flush of spring 2018 harvested tea leaves were used and small batch wet piled for 45 days.  Typically ripe pu-erh tea is made from 2nd flush of spring or even summer harvested tea leaves, but this production used only first flush tea leaves, giving the tea a thick full-bodied complex taste.

This is a sweet and fruity ripe tea that is lubricating and refreshing to drink.  There is no wet pile taste at all!

Each mini tuo is roughly 5 grams each

9/23/2023 Update: There was a previous version of this tea which was pressed from 2012 tea. If you previously bought that tea, you'll likely enjoy this tea, but it is different. If in doubt order a small amount first!

"I remember being so curios about the taste of this tea that I asked around and someone wrote that they had lived in this Mang Fei Mountain area and that all the vegetables had this same intriguing, mineral taste."

"I continue to return to this tea and have just bought yet another kilo. It's the mineral content of the water and soil that distinguishes this tea from others. I brew a strong 4 minute infusion using highly refined water which has an aggressive leaching capacity to bring out all the flavors I look for in say an initial tasting or at a competition. "I did not know that most ripe Pu-erhs were made from second flush! This is such a different, almost elegant, Pu-erh experience that I bought an entire kilo. Truly this must be the highest expression of this Pu-erh tea master's craft."

Fabulous!

"Using first flush spring leaves for this production has made a world of difference. I was delightfully surprised by the deep, dark, rich flavors of this tuo cha. In fact, it's one of the best tuos I've ever had. Brewed grampa style for 4 minutes with boiling highly refined water, it's one of those teas where you set aside an afternoon to indulge yourself. Thank you, Scott1 YAY! Frank Hadley Murphy"
