Imperial style black from Yixing in Jiangsu. The home of the world famous Purple "Zisha" Clay Teapots is also an area that produces some less-known but still world-class black tea!

We are proud to offer three grades of Yixing Hong for you to enjoy!

Our imperial grade "tippy" is a low temperature process black tea that preserves the downy hairs on the tea, giving it a sweet and malty character. If brewing gong fu style we recommend 80-90C water with very short steeps (for the first 3-4 steeps) to get the most out of this incredibly unique and textured tea!

Harvested in Late-April each year!

Delicious

"I love this tea. It is mild, not at all bitter with slightly floral notes"

Perfect

"Yixing red has been my favorite tea for the past ten years. I buy it here for the first time and very satisfied with quality and taste."

Oleksandr M. (5/5)

Wonderful tea

"This is my favorite daily tea. Really fantastic for the price. I look forward to having it every morning as the sun rises."

Amazing hongcha

"It can be pushed, won't get bitter, just strong, but the taste will be one dimensional, like a bourbon that was kept in a barrel for too long. If that happens it is really like a strong ripe puerh and goes well with milk, which will 'open' it a little bit. Otherwise this beats my daily Assam and also the Yunnan Black Gold Bi Luo Chun (which is also Assamica I presume) in every way but in strength. Beautiful harmonious aftertaste, silky smooth texture, pronounced floral nose, I could drink this anytime."

Good tea at a very

"Good tea at a very appropriate price point. Not worth having in a high end tea collection, but could be a great cheap daily drinker. Brewing params: 5g/100ml, 85C, 25s->+5s Dry smell: fruity and malty Heated smell: dark bread (borodinsky) Wet smell after 1 brew: dry fish, caramel, malt Tasting notes: caramel, subtle fruits, complex flavors, low 5*"

Very fine Northern Congou tea

"Adding my voice to the chorus of 5-stars. This is beautiful tea, and very fragrant with the sort of rose-floral aroma found on some very good Qimens. Contra the house brewing advice, I say drown it with boiling water and steep a good 15s the first 2-3 times."

Wade S. (5/5)

Super yummy. A pleasure.

"Pleasurable way to start the day. I also used boiling water, more tea, and a longer steep western style."

Wendy (5/5)

It's good tea

"It's good tea. It's deep and warming. When it rains, this tea warms up nicely."
