This is a wonderful blend of aged (2014) tangerine peel (chenpi 陈皮) and aged "Gong Ting" ripe pu-erh tea (2010).

High quality aged tangerine peel was painstakingly hand cut from whole peels and then blended with 2010 Menghai area Gong Ting Ripe Pu-erh tea.

Smooth, sweet, woody, fruity and incredibly refreshing!   The only "Chenpi" cake you'll ever need!

200 Grams per cake (7 cakes per bamboo leaf tong)

It's about the journey

"At first, i had agreed with other reviews saying this blend needs more tangerine, and perhaps that's still preferable. But just like every tea brewed in gong fu style, the way you appreciate every single infusion has a great impact in your experience. Gong Ting takes the stage from the beginning almost overshadowing the tangerine. Then after the third infusion it becomes balanced and coats your palate with a very satisfying citrus sweetness. After several infusions (lost count of how many) the tea steps back to let the tangerine shine all the way to the end. If i had to guess, I'd say i got around 12 infusions out of this using around 7gr in 100ml. At the end of the session i couldn't help to chew on the tangerine skin which reminded me that maybe, even if you take the time to appreciate every infusion, it would indeed be more refreshing if this blend had more tangerine in it. Either way, it's excellent value and highly recommended."

Tangerine Dream

"This tea is light, with just a hint of tangerine. Very refreshing as an afternoon drink. If anything, I think a bit more tangerine could be added."

smooth, savory, sweet and very satisfying

"I have tried of the orange stuffed teas offered by YS. this tea is amazing. I'm planning to get more cakes of this one. smooth, savory, sweet and very satisfying. 9g of tea in a 1000ml French Press."

Maybe a gate drug for shu cha?

"A very mellow ripe puerh taste with tangerine peels to give it an extra aroma. The effect is a bit less citrusy than what I thought at first - more of a fruit like companion to a not-too-strong shu cha profile."

good flavor

"I'm a fan of this teas bold flavor and ability to get me going in the morning. I generally use 3-5 grams in 3 cups of water for a 3 minute steep. Then I'll do a 4 minute steep. That is basically my ritual to start the day with all my loose tea. I know my taste for tea isn't too honed. I generally prefer strong/present flavors to mild and subtle"

A wonderful winter warmer ...

"Having tasted most of the tangerine and orange stuffed teas YS is carrying, I was expecting to taste a tea comparable to Golden Horse 8685, etc. I was positively surprised to find that this cake is in a different league. The tangerine peel pieces may be aged but they are in no way hard or dry. The cake itself is quite compressed and manipulating peel and leaves to break a chunk off for brewing, already created a lovely tangerine aroma. I gave the tea one short rinse only, just to wake up the leaves, and the first infusion proper (about 15 seconds) delivered a lovely light red, aromatic tea soup. The tangerine taste is very strong in the first two or three steeps. Even with only one short rinse, there is absolutely no wet pile taste to be detected. The Gong Ting ripe blends perfectly with the chenpi, creating a wonderfully sweet, mellow brew. This tea is so smooth that it is seemingly impossible to over-brew. Steep #8 was about 3 minutes long, but still delivered a tasty cup."

Mega Orange

"Great ripe cake with lots of orange peel pressed into it. The peel is quite young I guess so you get a brilliant fresh peel taste, very bright. Tastes great now but will be worth ageing as both the tea and peel should age well"

Nice tea

"Nice tea that can drink all day long"

Mellow Pu-erh with a Kick of Citrus

"The cha qi of this Pu-erh takes a backseat to the bloom and splendor of the citrus on this tea ride. Calms the mind and makes you want to drink this tea all day long. I might try adding a pinch of golden black tea and then also try it as an iced tea."
