This tea is made from a unique Yunnan varietal called "Chang Ye Bai Hao" which is a hybrid of Jinggu Camellia Taliensis and Yunnan large leaf assamica.

The tea was plucked and processed in late March and early April from tea bushes growing in the Mangshi region of Dehong prefecture (far southwestern Yunnan). 

The tea is processed much like a Fujian White Peony white tea (shade withering and air drying) and is also a 1 leaf to 1 bud ratio pluck. 

The taste is fruity with honey sweetness, with a subtle umami grassiness. The aroma is strong and heady, the mouth-feel is full and thick, with a long-lasting sweetness.

We recommend 90C water for this tea with initially short steeps. If over-steeped (or if the water is too hot) in the early steeps it could become somewhat bitter.

"They included this (2023 harvest) in a large order and it sat untouched for a year before I actually tried it. It is like no other tea experience. No taste

"I wasn't able to calibrate this tea. I've tried with friends gong fu/western with various temperatures and stepping times, but in the end, we got small aroma out of it (or grassy when you over steep it). Maybe I'm just not a fan of white teas."

Too light, even for a white tea

"I got this tea part of the May 2024 Tea Club Boxes and couldn't figure out if I'm doing something wrong or the tea is just not my cup of tea. I've tried brewing it gong fu with various combinations of rounds, as well as western style, but overall, the tea barely had any taste. (grassy/grapefruit nuances, imho) Disclaimer: I'm a red tea and above person. White teas in general are not my favourites, but I was still expecting some taste coming out from the brews. Looking at the other reviews on this tea, I can just wonder who's fault is it."

"Got this tea as a free sampler added to my order. Pretty much all large leaves, almost no buds. Tasting notes: subtle honey sweetness, with a grassy finish, some sour grapes. Like a very rough and harsh Bai Mu Dan. Brewing parameters: 4g/100ml, 90C, 20s->+5s"

Hello. If we compare its smell and taste to the other whites, is it closer to Jing Gu Yang Ta Yunnan Bai Mu Dan White Tea or to Purple Varietal "Yue Guang Bai" White Tea of Dehong? Or maybe to some other?
More similar to the Jing Gu Yang Ta Bai Mu Dan.
