This tea is harvested from untended bushes 野放茶 growing in the Guan Yang area of Fuding (Fujian province) at an altitude of 900 meters!

April 2018 harvested Gong Mei pluck white tea was aged for 3 years in Fuding before being pressed into this cake in 2021.  Stored in Fuding (Fujian) until early 2022.

This tea is ultra-smooth and sweet with a creamy thick mouth-feel.  Tea soup is a deep orange color and the brewed leaves are deep brown in color.  The qi is very balanced and the tea leaves have excellent stamina.  You can feel the relatively high altitude growing conditions when drinking this tea!

Happy with my tea

"Exactly what I want from a Gongmei; rich body with more chaqi than a Shoumei"

Good stuff

"This is amazing Gong Mei white tea with a nice age. It's very sweet and floral reminding one of honey. I'm very happy with it and would highly recommend it."

GOOD!

"This is a very good tea, with a rich jujube aroma, not bitter or astringent. It can be brewed, boiled, or made into a Kung Fu tea. Highly recommended"

Great tea.

"I'm a big fan of white tea. The bright scent of young white tea also loves the deep and profound taste of aged white tea. The tea is very sensitive, so the temperature of the day and the surrounding environment. And depending on my condition and mood, the tea has a different scent and taste. This tea is young for aged white tea, but the taste and aroma were excellent and enjoyable enough."

Favorite Gong Mei

"I have tried all the Gong Mei on offer at YS and Teavivre and this one is my absolute favorite. Cream honey and sweet. Very soothing to the throat and mood. Steeps 7 to 8 times."

Not recommended

"I‘m an avid fan of compressed white tea and already got so many excellent teas from YS. Got a 50g sample and am not sure if ill ever finish that. Probably the worst of all the ones i tried (there are only 3 that I did not enjoy out of around 15 or so YS compressed whites i tried over the years). I am wondering If this is the „same“ tea as the 2021 Guo Xiang Gong Mei cake just from a different year as they are from the same region and have an almost identical description. The taste are somewhat similar but I absolutely love the Guo Xiang, its one of my favourites and i bought a whole cake after trying a sample. This tea on the other hand got nothing pleasant for me. Maybe the additional age deprived it from its good qualities without adding anything. I recommend getting a different compressed white tea from YS, they have so many excellent ones. Nevertheless, i have only tried it gonfu style yet and not tried it in a large mug brewed western style. Maybe there it could shine, for whatever reason. I feel bad for leaving a bad review for YS as Im a huge fan and a very happy and loyal customer. However, I think i need to do all the other wonderful teas they sell justice by giving an honest review."
