EXCELLENT (at this price point!)

"This tea is really great for the price point! At less than $80 a kilogram, you really can't beat it in terms of red teas. It has a very deep malty character with a hint of chocolate. You get creaminess also when steeped for a short period of time, but not when over steeped. Also, if you forget the tea in the gaiwan and leave it there for a 45s-1min or longer, you can expect the leaves to begin to give some astringency and bitterness, but not so much as to overwhelm the core malty flavor of the tea. I bought a whole kilogram earlier this year after my initial 250g order ran out, as the tea became a regular morning daily drinker for me. I think I am going to upgrade to either the Mojiang Yunnan Black(/Red) Tea or the Golden Bud Jin Jun Mei as my go-to daily option when I'm in the mood for red tea. Still, I think that this tea at this price point can't be beat, as the other two mentioned teas are about twice the price. I'm currently drinking it in the office and at home regularly."

Another fine tea

"I received the 2022 recently in a tea sampler. This one was simply amazing to me. It had that nutty/malty flavor. Loved it so much. I placed an order just now for some more. I order the 2024 and we’ll see how that is when I get it. I’m convinced for me anyway aging it really improves the tea for me. Although it’s all great! I don’t think my taste buds are as refined as many others, but it is truly an enjoyable one for me! Thank you"

So so so good!

"This tea is a wonderful daily drinker. Classic Yunnan maltiness, a bit floral, excellent strength/depth of flavor. The Spring 2024 harvest is solid and a good value for the price."

Review Title: Wonderfully Sweet Aroma and Full-Bodied Tea

"I really enjoyed this Yunnan Fengqing Classic 58 tea. The dry leaves have a wonderfully sweet and inviting aroma as soon as you open the package. After brewing, the tea develops a rich fragrance and a noticeably full-bodied character. It has a smooth, satisfying texture and a well-rounded flavor that makes each cup enjoyable. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an aromatic and substantial black tea. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐"

A terrific tea!

"I love this tea. The flavor is sweet, rich, floral, malty, complex. It lasts many steeps and produces a warmth and nostalgia I keep coming back to. I highly recommend!"

Q&A

What tea fabric produces this tea? I am looking for Dian Hong from Menghai
This tea is from Feng Qing in Lincang. Dian Hong refers to tea from Feng Qing. Black tea from Menghai cannot be considered Dian Hong.
The flavor of the "Classic 58" reminded me a lot of the Feng Qing Dian Hong Black Tea Mini Brick. I think I can taste smoke maybe? Is smoking the tea part of the process in Feng Qing? Thanks,
The wok frying of the tea leaves is done in remote places where wood is used to heat the wok. This can lead to some smoke flavor in the tea.
