Aged as Mao Cha Raw Pu-erh Tea
Raw Pu-erh tea "Mao Cha" is loose leaf (un-pressed) raw pu-erh tea. After processing and sun-curing raw pu-erh tea "mao cha" is then typically steamed and pressed into cakes, bricks or tuo. If after processing the "mao cha" is stored for several years in loose leaf form (instead of being pressed) the tea will age more quickly and with it's own distinct character. We've chosen various aged mao cha from different regions to press into cakes that although recently pressed will have a nice aged taste. Think of it as a kind of shortcut on the road to aging.
