An incredibly fantastic raw Pu-erh made from Wild Pu-erh tree leaves that have a dark purple color.  This 野生茶 (Wild Tea) is naturally dark in color, and is heavy in anti-oxidants and catechins.

Ye Sheng "野生“ varietal aka "Camellia sinensis (L.) Kuntze var. assamica (J. Masters) Kitam." is a primeval varietal that pre-dates Camellia Sinensis var. Assamica and is a naturally occuring non hybridized varietal. It's potency in cha qi arises from it's unadulterated nature. It is naturally bug repellent, and grows wild in the forests of Yunnan at an altitude of 1600-2200 meters.

The quality of the leaves and the meticulous processing ensures excellent storage and aging potential. The infused liquor is bright and is almost completely without bitterness. There is strong full taste in the mouth and a warm stimulating feel in the mouth and body after drinking this tea.

Needs time to age or none to steep.

"If you have patience I would give this one time to mellow. As I have no patience and received this as a gift in 2015, I broke into it right away. After two years of brewing it every once in a while I have finished the cake and would not hesitate to buy another. I brewed this tea at 97c. I don't measure much but I use about 5 grams to around 100ml. I do a quick rinse and then walk away for a couple minutes to let the tea open. As soon as the pot fills with water I put on the lid and begin pouring into a second vessel. I do as short a steeping as possible for the first two or three before giving it more time in subsequent steepings. It immediately hits you with nutty savory notes that ring in your jaws. The aroma reminds me of a rotten stump sitting in bright sunlight. Strong and complex but not overpowering; pleasant. The tea opens into a more subtle flavor with apricot and dates sweetening significantly by the fifth and sixth steep. I would highly recommend this tea but if you want to drink it steep it as fast as you can or you might end up with a bitter bomb. Or just wait and reap the benefits of this tea's boldness down the road."
