Wild Arbor King (乔木王) was first introduced in 2006, and quickly became one of Mengku's most popular raw pu-erhs.  In 2006 it won the prestigious Expo Tea Award in Kunming.  A great tea with excellent aging potential and high percentage of wild arbor tea leaves!  This is a classic Mengku raw pu-erh that has stood the test of time and proven itself to be worthy of aging!

Entirely first flush of spring 2013 material!

Full of intense and aromatic cha qi, the bottom of the cup smell after drinking is exquisite!

Funky, but not in a good way for me.

"There's an initial funky bitterness that I don't particularly like. It definitely does develop a nice sweetness, but it doesn't really resolve the funk. Don't get me wrong, I like funk, just not this funk. I am inclined to call it a kind of smokiness, which I normally like, so maybe it has something to do with brewer. At any rate, I would recommend getting a sample first."

"Another example of YS doing what YS does best: Bringing us solid pieces, at decent prices without the marketing hype. The description is pithy and spot on cos this tea was really fragrant and strong, full stop. I realise this review is supposed to be about the tea, but the precision of the one-line descriptor as I sipped it just had me dwelling on "trusted vendor" thoughts. Thank you YS team."
