"Yue Chen Yue Xiang" means "The older, the more aromatic" and it's the perfect term to describe the essence of Pu-erh tea culture! This cake has been aged for 11 years and is quite mature and smooth to drink.

This aged tea has become very light and lost most of its rough 'earthiness'. Very smooth and drinkable with a pleasant hui gan.

good flavor, high astringency, in my opinion

"my goal is to try every pu-erh :) probably won't happen but i'm going to try. so i got this one as part of the Menghai sampler pack and i like it a lot. the flavor is good and balanced. i do like something just a tad more earthy but this one is good. it is very astringent in my opinion, quite chewy."

Good tea. I just want more flavor.

"I got this as part of the "Menghai Tea Factory "Special Release" Ripe Pu-erh Tea Sampler". I love sampling teas and this is a good one, so I'm certainly not complaining; I got what I wanted out of this, a chance to try something new. I just wouldn't order it again, because I like stronger tasting ripe pu-erhs. I love strong, earthy, leathery, tobacco-y, even smokey, ripe pu-erhs. This is very smooth, refined, and wonderful tasting. I know there are probably 100 cheaper ripe pu-erhs here that I love more."
