These mini bricks are made from Wu Liang Mountain and Lincang area. Gong Ting Grade, Grade 1 and Grade 3 ripe teas were used. Fermentation batch was completed in 2005 and tea was pressed in 2006. Nan Jian Tu Lin tea factory has a long history of (more than 30 years) producing Pu-erh teas. Their productions are often similiar to Xiaguan productions in their choice of raw materials, blending and processing techniques. Tulin brand fermented teas are well-known for their balanced flavor and sweet after-taste and complex flavor. A great choice for an everyday drinking ripe pu-erh tea.

With almost 18 years of age this is a ultra smooth aged ripe that is both pure in taste and origin!

2006 Nan Jan Phoenix Ripe Pu-erh Mini Brick--Is it worth it? Oh yes it is.

"I fell in love with pu-ehr in 2006 in Santa Cruz, the first time I was turned on to Trinity pu-ehr. I've been a devotee every since. But my taste in tea and my budget are worlds apart. Trinity pu-ehr is $150 a brick, I am a school teacher with a 2 and 4 year old. And in all the years I've loved Trinity, I've only owned two half bricks and one full brick. But I refused to drink a lesser quality pu-ehr. And then I discovered Yunnan Sourcing and this Phoenix mini brick.I give it 5 stars because for this price, I can't imagine finding a better quality and value. It's absolutely fine and meets both the demands of my palette and the constraints of my wallet. As I write this, I am sitting in front of my fireplace before dawn, watching Jupiter high above the Wasatch mountains, sipping Phoenix pu-ehr out of a gaiwan, brewing it in my yixing pot, and all is well with the world. You cannot go wrong with Phoenix pu-ehr. Yunnan Sourcing is my new go-to for pu-ehr."

"Dans les petits pots, les meilleurs onguents"!

"Which means "in small jars, the best ointments", and this is the case with this ripe. Don't be fooled by these small 100g bricks : they pack a punch, a quite complex and thick blow straight to your face. The taste is full, dark, intense, with, yes, a nice sweetness to it. I'd say it beats the hell out of any equivalently-priced ripe cake (do the math : 12$/100g is roughly 42$/357g), period. Plus, these cute little bricks make for a great gift, or resell-to-a-tea-drinking-friends item : I definitely regret having bought only three, I'll get more next order."
