Spring 2007 harvested Yi Wu Mountain tea leaves were pressed using stone compression technique in the Yi Wu Zheng Shan Tea Factory in Yi Wu town of Mengla County  (Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture of Yunnan).

The tea was aged in Jinghong in Xishuangbanna for 11 years before being purchased and brought to Kunming in January 2018.  The wetter aging condition has transformed this tea into an incredibly sweet pu-erh with a kind of mild rum and raisin spice to it.  Very nicely aged Yi Wu that is thoroughly pleasant to drink, but not at the expense of being dull or flat.  Lively and tasty tea to be sure!

Light, Sweet, Calming

"I agree with the tea drinkers who have posted previously. My wife and I dedicate the first hour of each day to tea, prayer, and meditation. This tea — light, sweet, and calming — is a perfect meditation companion."

zen mindset inducing

"After reading a previous review about how this tea is a "stoner tea", my interest was peaked. To my absolute delight they were 100% correct about this part of the tea. When drinking this tea a cloud of calm will cover you, as if you are singking deeper into your seat with every brew. By the end of your session you will be in a state of contentment, enjoying the state of just "being". With that said, it's the ideal tea for great meditation or a relaxing afternoon/evening. I would argue this is not a good tea to drink when you want to have a lot of things done during the day. Being a Yi Wu tea, this tea does have its typical sweetness and with its age does come of the usual musky woodiness. It doesn't have a very smokey or tabacco taste you sometimes get depending on the storage, but rather a light one at that. All in all this tea is well worth its pricepoint. Definitely adding another cake to my next order of this one."

An elegant tea.

"The way I would describe this wonderful Yi Wu Mountain tea is 'elegant'. I brew this tea in sliver, with the usual gong fu parameters applied, and from steep one it creates a serene, peaceful atmosphere. From the aroma, to the taste, all about this tea is well balanced, one could even say rounded. There are no off-tastes, there is no astringency, and even longer steeps do not create any unwanted bitterness. I will keep this as a tea for special occasions, for those mediative moments, times of calm reflections, or peaceful evenings."

Mild and rich

"Liked this one a lot! Gives me the same raw pu-erh stewed fruit vibe but with a unique densely layered, stronger twist. I would call it a ”Massive attack” tea, I hope those who know these musicians will understanf the thought haha :D Means it’s dark and deep but nevertheless appealing for a ligher mood as well. Speaking about mood, the psychoactive effect of this one is apparent and comes in strongly already after the tjird infusion. I value this a lot! Very stoney and calming effect, not clouding the mind of course. Super cool tea!"
