This aged ripe pu-erh tea was produced from tea leaves harvested in the Mang Fei mountain area of Yong De county (Lincang).  The tea underwent wet piling (wo dui) in a local Yong De area tea factory, and then sold to a Nan Jian area tea factory.

Tea was aged in Nan Jian from 2012-2017, and then Kunming thereafter!  After 8 years of aging its "wo dui" taste (freshly wet piled aka composted) is entirely gone!  It brews up a clear burgundy red tea soup, and the taste is very clear and sweet, with an earthy camphor taste.

Tea is Grade 5 size tea leaves (neither big nor small).  An enjoyable and accessible ripe pu-erh tea that's great to drink now, but will continue to improve with further storage.

2012 harvested and wet piled!

Aged goodness

"I love this aged ripe. It has a beany sweetness and creamy mouthfeeling. Very nice aged taste. Hard to describe. Just try it!"

interesting character, hard to drink

"this has a strange meaty/smoky profile, especially once you're a few infusions in and it builds up in your mouth. interesting one to share with others, but personally it's hard to sit down and have a whole session of this by myself."

Good but...

"Something is missing I don't know if it's depht, after taste, or a few more brewing with a strong soup... Still a good product!"

Review

"Definitely good tea. Really earth like taste. Also, it is possible to do many infusions whilst still keeping the flavor. Fairly satisfied."

lovely flavors

"the nose on this tea is kind of funky, but i'm really digging the flavor that comes from it. i love the red hue that the liquor presents. it's a lot smoother than the smell indicates, and to me it's woody with some berry notes hanging out in the background. it becomes smoother and more mellow with every steeping. wonderfully complex. it's served as a great introduction to pu-erhs for me."

Value For Daily Big Batch Chugging

"I make it "western style" 16 oz at a time with boiling water and get great flavor and energy from it. I don't have to pick apart a brick, which is fun for tea I'm going to spend some time with, but for fast morning routine chugging loose leaves are where its at. This tea is a good value."
