Bai Sha Xi Tea Factory in An Hua County of Hunan is the earliest producer of "Dark Tea" (hei cha) in Hunan and the first to produce the Golden Flower bricks in China. Bai Sha Xi was established in 1940 to product Hei Cha bricks, then in 1953 they produced the first Fu Brick with Golden Flowers.

This is an incredibly unique tea that uses finished Tian Jian tea from An Hua and then processes it like Fu Brick tea with golden flowers! The golden flowers in this Tian Fu brick are a kind of orange/brown color. The Tian Jian being darker in color changed the color of the golden flowers!

The taste is malty and sweet with dried fruit after-taste!

Each Brick is 1 Kilogram. If you order anything other than a whole brick you will get pieces.

Pressed in 2011 from 2011 Spring Tea.

*Sometimes the inner brown wrapper will stick to the brick leaving some paper fibers on the tea.  Use a soft cloth or brush to remove it.

ALLERGEN ALERT!!!   ** Because there is a possibility the golden flowers were inoculated using wheat flour we cannot guarantee this tea is safe for those with Celiac Disease or those that have severe gluten induced allergies **

stone fruit, chocolate, wood and baked goods

"Brewing: 6g/100ml, 100°C, flash rinse, 15s, +5s. Warmed-up dry leaves smell of dark chocolate, stone fruit and spices. When wet, wood notes appear. The liquor has a smooth taste, combining stone fruit, chocolate, wood and baked goods. Still good after 16 steeps."

i don’t like it, but you might!

"personally I don’t like this tea. All other pu erhs and teas I’ve had from YS has been a 9 or 10 but this just wasn’t it for me. It had some wet pile and off putting tastes that wasn’t letting me enjoy the richness and fruitiness in the tea. There was also a metallicy taste especially in the later brews. Maybe im being too harsh? Or maybe im just not brewing or appreciating this tea how it’s supposed to. I’d love to hear others opinions on this!"

Wonferful tea!

"I received 50 gr. (2 large chunks) in my November Dark Tea box. I have never heard of Brick tea, and I admit I esp. signed up for the box to try this. Hei cha is a fermented lea, like pu ehr. odd smell though - a bit like wet leave compost. Steeped in my superbuy 'Yunnan Easy Gaiwan' - I ended up with this magical light brown cup. A winner for me, gives a long & honey sweet mouthfeel - I really liked it and will def. try other hei cha teas!"
