2009 Yong Pin Hao "Lan Xiang Gu Yun" Raw Pu-erh Tea Cake
"Lan Xiang" meaning is Orchid Aroma. It is said that tea brewed from some Wild Arbor trees has a subtle Orchid aroma to it. This cake is made from a blend of Yi Wu, Man Zhuan, Nan Nuo, Youle, and Bu Lang Wild Arbor trees. Composed entirely from early spring tea leaves, it is hand-processed and stone-pressed in the traditional method. The brewed liquor is thick and deep yellow in color without cloudiness or smoky tones. It is said a properly processed raw pu-erh should not be too light in color. A full shade of yellow color typically indicates a hand processed kill-green process took place, using heat and wok instead of large electric drying tumblers. The tea can be infused between 10 and 15 times, has a strong and fast "hui gan", bringing a sweet and comforting coating to the mouth and throat.
