Celebrating 7 years of Lucy! Loved by humans, feared and hated by squirrels and vultures, Lucy is a force to be reckoned with!  Feel the thunderclap of her gallop, hear her stomach rumble, behold her shiny luster, listen to her snore, and breathe in her cinnamon and watermelon scent!

You saw the pictures, the silly little videos, profile pictures, Youtube guest appearances, and facebook mentions, so you knew this day would come!  The queen has arrived and she has ascended to her rightful throne in this year of the dog 2018!

The tea itself is a blend of Menghai and Lincang (Mengku) ripe teas from two different wet piling batches, the Menghai batch is from Spring 2016 material, the Lincang ripe is from spring 2017 harvested tea leaves.

The taste is rich and pure, there is a crisp woodiness in the tea followed by a thick sweetness.  The tea soup is dark but not cloudy, the mouth-feel is pungent, cooling and lubricating.  The tea leaves are very robust and will deliver 8 to 10 infusions or more when brewed gong fu style.  Cha Qi is strong for a ripe tea, but very pleasant and nurturing.

This is a tea to sip contemplatively and imagine oneself living the lazy life of a spoiled dog.  Sunning, eating, and sleeping without any anxiety or concerns for the future.

Luscious

"after reading all the great reviews here i too wanted to try this tea even tho i am many years enjoying only Shen, i felt inspired to try this Shu, Indeed i agree. . . this tea brews a deep dark luscious red and tastes as rich and satisfying as it looks! Enjoy."

Great tea with very interesting flavor

"This was my introduction to Pu-erh tea and I really enjoyed it! The tea smells similar to dry hay in a way that has me reminiscing about taking care of my horse. The taste is very rich, starts off similar to how it smells, and very strong, but when I exhale after a sip I taste something sweet that's close to molasses or a hint of brown sugar. It's a very interesting flavor that I didn't expect to enjoy as much as I did. Now, I find myself wanting a cup of this tea after a large meal or if I want to really focus on a strong flavor in a tea. I also found that it pairs really well with dark chocolate. I would definitely give this tea a try if you're new to Pu-erh like I am!"

Lucy is our favorite Puerh.

"Lucy is our favorite Puerh. It was my 3rd or 4th purchase"

One of the best ripes

"One of the best ripes I've ever had. Has a thick oily texture that comes back steep after steep. And this tea goes foreverrrr. I can easily get 12+ infusions out of it!"

Perfect for a cold day

"So good. Woodsy and earthy, just the right amount of low bitterness. Took me a few steeps to get into the best of it. When I finish my sampler, need to grab a whole cake."

Slowly Becoming A Favourite

"This tea started off as something I was not a fan of - the first 2-3 steeps are very soupy, bitter and viscous but as I steeped more and more; fruity aromas of cherries and plums with an underlying chocolate flavour became stronger and stronger. Perfect for a cold rainy day especially here in the UK!"

Shes deep and rich. Shes

"Shes deep and rich. Shes complex and sweet. Dark chocolate, dried currants, with some earthy undertones carry this tea right out to chase squirrels and bark at anything that moves. Great YS brand ripe!"

I love Lucy!

"I have been buying tea from Yunnan Sourcing for many years. Scott and his team have always been helpful and supportive in making selections and shipping. I am afraid what might happen when there is no more Lucy. I think that I have bought over thirty cakes so far. I have tea that I have been aging for many years that now sells for over $100 a cake. I am addicted. Aal I seem to want to do is drink is "Lucy" tea."

So good I bought a tong!

"I really really enjoy this tea. The soup is dark immediately and in that darkness are some wonderful flavors. I definitely get a very very strong feeling from it, maybe too strong for me to do more than 6g usually. I assume it'll mellow out a little bit as it ages; but for such a young tea to be this good, it is definitely worth not only buying some to drink right away, but buying some to store while it further matures. Please don't sleep on this decision, grab some while you can."
