Made entirely from Spring harvested tea leaves! Bing Dao Lao Zhai (lit Bing Dao Old Village) is one of the two villages called "Bing Dao".  There is Bing Dao Xin Zhai (lit.  Bing Dao New Village) as well, which is the more famous of the two villages in the same area.  Bing Dao Lao Zhai trees range in age from 100-300 years old, and while there are older trees we were not privy to that material due to high demand and very high prices.   That being said this is still the most expensive Lincang tea we have ever produced.  It is also one of the best we have produced and if you want to drink Bing Dao tea from spring harvest and from old trees, then this is an excellent choice!

It's interesting that "Bing Dao" means "Ice Island" in Chinese, because this tea is very cool in the mouth and is at once subtle and powerful.  It's got a "creep up on you" cha qi and a powerful pungent mouth-feeling that will stay with you long after your session has ended.  There is is bitterness and astringency but it's never center stage and adds to the complexity of this tea.  One of the more difficult to describe raw pu-erhs I have had.  It can only really be judged by several sessions, so I recommend buying at least 25 grams to start.

hui gan for days

"This is quite the treat. Since this tea is very fresh, I can't attest to what it will develop in to, but oh my what an experience it provides right now. Brewed this at 5 grams in a 100ml gaiwan, near boiling temperature spring water. The first few brews seem pretty tame, with a mostly creamy, green taste. There's some bitterness in there but only very slight; and then after a few minutes the hui gan comes knocking. Everything tastes fruity, sweet with hints of vanilla and flower scent - mixed with a citrus and oranges taste. The body feel is incredibly relaxing, with a slight high and uplifting feeling. I'd recon this tea would be perfect to drink on a lazy Sunday afternoon, while enjoying the garden or when doing some meditation. The tea kept going for more than 10 steeps, adding 5 seconds to each steep. I would say this tea is incredible and getting as many steeps as it does now, definitely worth the price even if it's not cheap."

Perfect sheng

"Citrusy, slight bitter, so very fruity with a nice sweet and fine resin flavor. That's the real deal. It reminds of a very delicate high percentage spirit from fruits. Of course it still has its green side as it's a young sheng, not even a year old. I can just dream of what will come. Definitely a cake to buy, regardless of the price. This goes into my all-time top 10."
