Cha Yu Lin is a small An Hua area tea producer that produces their own Fu Cha, Tian Jian and Qian Liang (and Bai Liang) Cha.  They have been producing teas under this brand since 2005.  Their attention to care and detail in their productions is admirable and we are proud to be able to offer this incredibly delightful Fu Brick!

This 1 kilogram tea brick is composed entirely of spring harvest material from Fu Rong Mountain in An Hua county of Hunan. The tea was fermented, then pressed into bricks where the golden flowers flourish in the inner section of the brick where the conditions are just right to support them. The Golden Flowers start to thrive after a few days, and from there the bricks are dried gradually using a temperature of 37C which gradually halts the spread of the flowers without damaging them or the tea leaves.

The owner of Cha Yu Lin decided to call this tea "29 Steeps" 二十九道茶 because it can be steeped many times before losing its essence!

High quality tea leaves, expert processing, and a decade plus of aging come together to make this a very enjoyable Fu Brick!   The tea is thick and sweet, with notes of fruit, hay, and honey.  The tea soup is orange-red in color!

1 kilogram per brick. (if you want an intact brick please choose the "1 Brick (1 Kilogram" option).

Amazing little Hei Cha

"Cha Yu Lin never fails to impress me!"

Lots and lots of Steeps Fu Brick

"Of course I’ve tried to count the total number of steeps too haha, but I lose track, focusing instead on the reliably consistent full flavor this tea gives. Hei cha flavor is the hardest for me to describe. I get a viscous and mouth watering deep fruity flavor with some grape skin tartness that hangs out in the mouth with a smooth foresty character. Comforting mind/body feeling. Every inner chunk I pry off has golden flowers. This is my favorite Cha Yu Lin Fu brick. I’ve gathered up two of these kilo bricks over the years."

Nice

"Got this tea as a sample. This is the first black tea in my life and I liked it. Dry tea smells like wood with a peppermint tones, while the second steep reveals autumn leaves and nuts tinge. Taste is more like soft ripe pu-erh, but differs in a good way with complex wooden and meadow grass tones. Highly recommend this tea."

21 Steeps Fu Rong brick

"Well I have to admit that I set out to see how many steeps I could extract, and reached 21, when my wife assured me that she could taste hot water more than tea.. Sweating and flying in that bubbly Fu induced UFO, I finally admitted defeat. It is extremely even in its output for about 16 steeps, even flavour that hardly changes and a sparkling bright clear orange tea soup that holds it's colour as long. I did get this tea inspired by the enticing colour of the soup in the photos. As I only took leaves off the edge (very loose compression and leaves crumble off without really applying a pick) I can't yet comments on the golden flower taste or abundance. Did I mention how it made me feel?? Verrry goood. Happy fu-ing!"
