Another limited single estate Nan Nuo production from Hai Lang Hao. Spring 2005 material from old tea trees growing in Ban Po Lao Zhai in the Nan Nuo mountains in Menghai county of Xishuangbanna. Dry stored in Shanghai since 2005 this has aged wonderfully and is a pleasure to drink! This semi-aged Nan Nuo tea when brewed is golden-orange color and very clear. The aroma is floral and sweet, the flavor of the tea is somewhat spicy and sweet, the after-taste is cooling and mouth-watering. Cha qi is subtle and builds with multiple infusions to a calming but heightened sense of awareness. An excellent example of a semi-aged Nan Nuo tea.

An unusual tea for anyone who loves florals

"This tea is like no other puer I have had. The body is light and the huigan delicate and each sip leaves you wanting more to catch it's subtleties but it is the cup odor and leaf fragrance that keep me endlessly fascinated. This tea is highly perfumed and keeps revealing new layers with each steep. Even left in the gaiwan overnight the fragrance of the leaves lingers."

a gem

"had this in the cupboard for a long time. just took it out for the first time in many years. I agree with all the comments re sweetness and light floral touch. also the tobacco and leather in later infusions. medium to heavy viscosity which coats the mouth. but the qi is the thing. balanced, calm, comforting. this tea is now over 15 years old and it's matured in the most delightful and delicate way. a uniquely subtle meditation. after the fourth or fifth wash the whole body glows with a pleasant warmth."

Nearly Perfect

"I think this is exquisite tea. I would agree with the given description but add just a few details. As far as flavors, the predominant profile is pepper and tobacco. The "sweet" or fruit is really more on the nose and only a hint of it in the cup, it's just much more spice than sweet for my pallet. That said, the spice is pleasant enough- so do not be deterred in that aspect. It's just a darker profile then many of my other cakes. Body is super viscous, You'll like notice it right away- I've even been drinking the rinse! Wet leaves are very aromatic. Sometimes I can smell it across the room. I have a few teas that are a bit more expensive, but I keep going back to this. It's very high quality puerh. It's really different and I'm quite pleased. Though I have no other Nan Nuo to compare it to, we can certainly tell it is a high quality leaf. Nice Qi on the backside as well, calming but still caffeinated."
