This is a lightly aged tea cake pressed from early spring 2004 tea.  Ying Luo mountain straddles Shuangjiang Mengku county and Yong De county of Lincang prefecture.  The mountain peaks out at 2700 meters.  This tea comes from 60 to 80 year old plantation bushes.  The tea is one leaf and one bud sets and is sweet and full in taste.  Aging has mellowed it significantly.  Medium tight compression of the cake will allow for further aging possibilities.  A pleasant tea with characteristics of Mengku Rongshi teas or Yong De teas.

Still very young tasting

"Don't be fooled by the age - despite 20 years of aging, this one is still stuck in the mid-aged zone. Not necessarily a bad thing but something to be aware of"

Excellent

Brashly Bitter and Astringent with Lurking Depth

"The structure is intense but not unappealing. Although bitterness dominates, there is sweetness and complexity that seems likely to emerge. Perhaps the most appealing aspect is a note of incense in the aroma. Though subtle in intensity, this note of incense in the aroma is pungent and intoxicating in quality. There is a faint note of incense on the palate as well. Although this tea is a bruiser it seems like there is a lot of complexity that is not particularly forward at this point. Although it is possible to tease out some sweetness with adjustments to the steep, there is much more sweetness in returning flavor as well as more forward floral incense."

Q&A

Is this one a new (in Summer 2019) product for you? What is the storage like (KM, GD, someplace else?) Thanks.
We used to sell it, but found more when we organized our warehouse recently. It's 100% Kunming stored.
