Super Thick Fu brick
"Unique Fu cha with a lighter flavor profile that other darker leafed bricks. Smooth, mellow, malty, spiced fruit and floral, with the thickest textured tea soup of any Fu brick I’ve had. Comforting and relaxing cha qi. Nice summertime Fu."

wow factor
"I'm a fan of dark teas with sweet notes and a syrupy mouthfeel, tend to prefer shou puerh to sheng. So hei cha is a favorite style, but sometimes if you get a few different hei cha going you can think, the variety really isn't there. And then something like this comes along. The first rinse barely opens it up and the second rinse doesn't fare much better, it's very dense and dry. But once the flavor emerges, wow. Sweet notes of raisin, malt, dark cherry, fruitcake...so much more going on, but all in the sweet realm with a complexity often absent from sweeter teas. Not really an authority on cha qi but the sensation of drinking such an excellent tea is for sure a great mood."

Just Lovely
"I will start by saying that this is a genre of tea that I am not as familiar with as some others. I have sampled a few hei chas and in general have not cared for them so much. That said, sometimes I try a new tea that is an immediate “YES” and this is one of them. Lightly sweet, comforting brew with no weirdness."

Fu Brick review
"The tea I received was of great quality. I like it grandpa style."

Exquisite Tea!
"It is truly wonderful to open a new tea and just go WOW for the entire tea session. This tea can be pushed and never develops an edge anywhere. I used 11 g in a 160 ml pot. It opens with predominantly dark, woody, earthy flavours, and as you get into more steeps the dark, woody flavour eases a bit as it slowly transforms into plummy fruits with light floral notes. If you like Hei Cha, this is a stunningly good tea and quite a remarkable value."

Iconic Fu Cha
"Hei Cha and Fu Cha are my go-to cups and this is as good as it gets. Sweet, rich, malty, like a good coastal Scotch. Simply wonderful! If Fu Cha and Hei Cha are already staples in your cupboard, you won't want to miss this one."

Brew long and strong, friends
"I was so disappointed with this tea UNTIL I read the review suggesting grandpa style brewing. Short gong fu steeps did nothing for this tea, to my palate: wet fallen leaves, maybe a bit of menthol in the aftertaste. However with 6grams in a 500ml jar this tea opens up into something else. Warming, tingling across the front of the tongue, a suggestion of raisins and late autumn apples withering on the tree, a hint of mesquite smoke, closing out with hay and a long, long, loooong brown sugar sweetness that freshens the whole mouth, finally cooling into that previously noted menthol. It’s like a cup full of October, and it doesn’t oversteep. Think I’ll fill it with another 500ml of hot water now."

Wonderful Fu Brick tea
"This tea is very aromatic with a sweet, malty, brown sugar aroma and a light cooked fruit note. Has a nice mouth coating fairly thick mouthfeel, very smooth with a very light drying sensation. The flavor is like the aroma with additional dried fruit, raisin notes and an earthy, woody note and a hint of mushroom in the broth. Has a long aftertaste and a fairly substantial cha qi which I feel in my throat and chest. Tea has really good memory and invites the next drink of it. This is the best Fu Brick tea I have had to date. Really enjoyable."
