Crystalline Mineral Yam! 🍠

"Yammy sweet potato rock oolong. It's a perfect balance between the warmth of a roasted sweet potato and the lightness of dan cong oolong. I was surprised by how drinkable it is. Some oolongs can feel too light and some sweet potato hong cha can feel too heavy, and this one is the perfect compromise. Very tasty as a base for a milk tea pudding with brûléed muscovado on top! 😍😋 Thank you YS for yet another lovely offering 🍠💕"

Superb

"Many oolong teas disappoint me, but this is superb. It’s a joy to partake of this tea which to me has a toasted coconut and mineral essence…. very enjoyable on this chilly morning."

This tea pretty much has

"This tea pretty much has it all. Great aroma everywhere. The aroma in the Storage container, the warmed teaware awaiting water and in the pot through 8 to 10 flushes. The flavor is what Dan cong is all about. If you are looking for a fantastic Dan cong this will do it for you."

A good solid tea

"Not my favourite tea, but still very good. I consider this to meet the promises, although it doesn't go beyond. As some of the teas do. I don't regret buying a lot and it's on my list to buy more."

Deliciousness

"Malted toasted notes with a refreshing sweet finish - well balanced and complex. Even has some minerality on the finish. Good value for the price and a tea I would certainly reorder."

A treasure

"Wow, I didn’t know what to expect from this tea, and I am currently drinking my first cup of it brewed gong fu style. The flavor is absolutely mesmerizing - I can’t say I’ve had many other teas like it! Floral, fruity, and yes, sweet potato-y. It is very bright and making me nostalgic in a vague way. I already know I will be ordering more of this one."

a very pleasant surprise

"This dan cong is amazing. I stumbled across it as I was working through my personal stash of Mi Lan, so it was a totally unexpected surprise for me. I noticed one of my tins of Mi Lan did not look or smell like Mi Lan ... so I did the only rational thing a dan cong nutjob would do: I brewed up a teapot and figured it out. It didn't take more than 2 sessions for me to come to the inescapable conclusion that I was drinking sweet potato nectar, so I looked up whether Scott carried a "sweet potato aroma" dan cong. Oh, what do you know... here we are... The flavor profile of this tea remains anchored in sweet potatoes across the full session - in the first few cups, the molasses-like sweetness is thick and viscous, while in later infusions this mellows out and transforms into something that is more starchy and reminiscent of baked fries. The aftertaste is complex, with a sweetness that lingers and coats the throat for a very long time. There is a mineral quality to this tea that reminds me of Ye Lai Xiang, it's most apparent in the first 4 to 6 cups as the sensation on the palate that brings balance to the nectar-like sweetness that you can't mistake for anything except sweet potato. The back end of this tea has some floral qualities to it that are sublime. 5 grams of leaf has returned 10+ cups so far with every session. I really like how easy this tea is to brew. It's very straightforward and forgiving, making it the perfect choice for somebody who wants an easy-brewing experience that does not sacrifice the "wow" factor in the cup. This tea will definitely impress you as it did me."
