Jasmine Green Tea
Jasmine Green Teas: The Art of Traditional Scenting
Our Jasmine Green Tea collection is a celebration of the ancient craft of scenting, a meticulous process where high-quality spring green teas are transformed by the natural essence of fresh jasmine blossoms. Unlike mass-market floral teas that rely on artificial oils or perfumes, our teas are scented using traditional methods in Hengxian (Guangxi) and Yunnan, where fresh jasmine buds are layered with tea leaves at the peak of their fragrance.
The Craft Behind the Scent
The quality of a Jasmine tea is defined by two factors: the base tea and the number of scenting sessions.
Spring Base Material: We use early spring-harvested teas from Yunnan and Fujian, including tippy Mao Feng, Bi Luo Chun, and Silver Needles. These young, tender buds are naturally porous, allowing them to absorb and hold the jasmine fragrance deep within the leaf.
Repeated Scenting: High-grade jasmines in our collection undergo between 3 and 9 scenting sessions. In each round, fresh jasmine flowers are mixed with the tea overnight; as the flowers open, the tea absorbs their essential oils. The "spent" flowers are then sifted out, and the process is repeated with a fresh batch of blossoms to build layers of complex, long-lasting aroma.
