2026 Yunnan Sourcing “Radiant” Raw Pu-erh Tea Cake
This is an exceptionally premium first-flush Spring 2026 raw pu-erh made from ancient arbor tea trees approximately 200–300 years old. For this production we have chosen not to disclose the mountain, village, or exact growing area. We want “Radiant” to be experienced first and foremost through its aroma, texture, depth, and long-lasting presence in the cup.
The material comes from naturally growing ancient tea trees on a warm, sun-facing slope. The leaf is thick, sturdy, and deeply expressive, and the brewed tea immediately shows the qualities we look for in truly high-end old-tree sheng: bright clarity, penetrating aroma, powerful mouthfeel, and a finish that seems to grow stronger rather than fade.
The liquor is a brilliant yellow-gold and exceptionally clear. The aroma is rich and penetrating, with wildflower honey, sweet wood, ripe fruit, soft grain, and a deeper almost cacao-like tone that becomes more apparent as the tea opens. In the mouth, the tea is full, textured, and substantial, with a dense, almost creamy body that spreads slowly across the palate and throat.
The flavor is layered and remarkably smooth for such powerful material. Early infusions show floral sweetness, honey, and pale fruit, while later steeps reveal deeper wood, grain, mineral character, and a distinctive chocolate-like aftertaste. There is bitterness and astringency, but both are measured and integrated, adding structure without disrupting the tea’s overall smoothness.
The hui gan is strong and persistent, returning quickly after swallowing and continuing to build across the session. Sheng jin is steady, leaving the mouth lubricated and increasingly sweet. One of the most impressive qualities of this tea is the way the aftertaste deepens over time, with the darker sweet notes becoming more pronounced long after the liquor itself has left the mouth.
The cha qi is strong, warm, and expansive. It develops steadily rather than abruptly, bringing a grounded, focused feeling and a pronounced sense of depth in the body. Combined with the tea’s thickness and long aromatic finish, this gives “Radiant” a powerful but composed character.
This is one of those teas that is already deeply enjoyable when young, but clearly built for aging. The material has the depth, structure, and concentration to continue developing for many years, with the potential for the floral and fruit character to transform into deeper honey, wood, dried fruit, and increasingly complex sweetness.

Grandpa style highlights the tea’s honeyed sweetness, thick mouthfeel, and long finish while keeping the bitterness restrained.
Aging Notes
“Radiant” has excellent potential for long-term aging. Its combination of ancient-tree material, dense body, penetrating aroma, measured bitterness, and powerful returning sweetness gives it the structure needed to develop greater depth over time.
Store in 50-65% RH and 70-90F, in an odor-free area, with minimal airflow.
With age, expect the tea’s youthful florals and fruit to deepen toward honey, sweet wood, dried fruit, and richer cacao-like sweetness, while the mouthfeel becomes increasingly smooth and integrated.
