2019 was a great year for YS teas especially ripe! Join us as we highlight some of the these great teas - Part 3. Experience the diverse characteristics of the villages and mountains we sourced our 2019 Ripe Pu-erh tea from! Taste a curated selection of samples from 2019 Yunnan Sourcing Brand Ripe Pu-erh Tea Cakes and develop an appreciation for the distinct aroma, flavor and mouthfeel of the teas we personally chose for our cakes.

Pu-erh tea is made from Yunnan large-leaf varietal of Camellia sinensis. It is typically processed into compressed cakes, bricks and tuos. Pu-erh is particularly special because it can be aged for decades or longer, always changing and (in most cases) developing more depth and texture. Ripe Pu-erh (熟茶) is fermented during a 40-50 day period under-going a mellowing process that changes the tea into something dark red-brown in color.

Yunnan Sourcing Brand was first produced in 2009!  We select the finest Ripe and Raw Pu-erh teas from Yunnan province and offer them to our customers at a very reasonable price. Our Raw Pu-erh tea productions are produced mostly from single village or mountain sources in small batches. All our raw cakes are processed at every stage in the traditional method to ensure the best possible long term aging outcome! Our ripe pu-erhs are selected based on their taste profile, fermentation degree, leaf quality and future aging potential!

Great tea, and great tea

"Great tea, and great tea pot."

Nice set of tea samples

"I got 'Yunnan Sourcing Brand Ripe Pu-erh Tea Sampler for 2019'. All Parts: 1, 2, 3. And this is my review: Part 3 includes very unique samples, each one has different taste. It is very experimental/unusual colection or ripe, ripe/raw caskes. Do you want to check something new? Try it. From my point of view: Ebullient: nice suprise, balanced taste, good combination of sweetness and bitterness with solid earthy background. price is also ok Gong Ting: solid ripe cake. The best of all samples here. Strong earthy background with interesting tastes. In beg.it is sweeter and aftertaste is slightly bitter and you can feel it for a long time Lao Man'e Village: for sure interesting taste. Each brew is slightly different and it is perfect to play with it....anyway: price is very high and I think that Ebullient offers similarly balanced raw/ripe taste for better price Dizzy: this one is not drinkable for me. Extremly bitter, not balanced taste, weak earthy background... maybe +10y of aging would improve it. Anyway now (Jan 2021) it is simply bad tea for me. Jingmai Golden Needle: just a good tea with many brews. Samples above brought me more interesting tea experienced. This one was ... just a good So: part 1 includes average tea samples. Part 2: perfect set, all ripe samples are very good. Part 3: more experimental and unique combination. I've enjoyed 3/5of samples, 1 of them was average and 1 of them is not my cup of tea. Part 3 if great if you want to try somethink new and unusual."
