Our "Sunrise" ripe pu-erh tea cake is small batch wet piled tea from spring 2020 harvested tea. The tea was harvested from three Jinggu villages (Hong Ni Tang, Ku Zhu Shan, and Ye Zhu Tang) and then wet piled with expert precision to achieve a highly complex ripe pu-erh that can be aged for decades to come.

The taste, aroma, and mouth-feeling of this tea is unique and complex. It's got cream, dried fruit and tropical wood character and even being such a young tea (at the time of our initial offering) has very little wet pile taste at all!

Net Weight: 357 grams per cake (7 cakes per bamboo leaf tong)

"Brewing: 6g/100ml, 100°C, flash rinse, 10s x 3, +5s. Warmed-up dry leaves smell of stone fruit and cocoa. When wet, spices appear. The liquor tastes of stone fruit, milk chocolate and liquorice. Smooth and clear taste. Excellent cocoa bitterness in the aftertaste."

"This is the first ripe pu'erh I've had that made me want to buy a full tong. Now I understand why people stock up on multiples of the same cake. The word "smooth" does no justice to this tea - it's so smooth that babies all around the world are crying right now, tears of jealousy streaming down their cute faces as they unwillingly accept the truth that, contrary to popular belief, their skin is NOT the smoothest thing on Earth. This ripe pu'erh is. If I win the lottery, the first thing I'm going to do is clean YS out of every Sunrise cake left in the inventory. Until then, I need to resist the same urge, otherwise I'll find myself filing for bankruptcy - but hey, at least I'll have these cakes, right? I cannot say enough good things about pairing this ripe with Duan Ni clay to brew and Jian Shui clay to drink out of."
