Xiaguan character?

"I was looking for a tea of character and had read that Xiaguan has plenty of it. for what I know, this one might be a good example. It still need to rest a few before beeing able to make a worthy review but the expected character is well there. Two remarks : I choosed damaged wrapper and it is well damaged. But the tea is in good condition. I am curious of how it became so damaged. My other question is about the paper inside the wrapper, that says "oolong". As this is a puerh tea, I was surprised. Maybe does this relate to the leafs? In short : I am happy with this and look forward further tastings :-)"

Really strong and complex

"The least expensive of the 4 pu erh samples I purchased, this had by far the strongest flavor. The cha qi was palpable and immediate, and the astringency lingered for a long time. It had really good woody, smokey, and earthy notes, without being overly sweet. Medium thickness mouthfeel. Very tightly compressed cake, though, which was hard to break."

Premium Xiaguan

"I had heard about FT productions being premium versions of Xiaguan releases. I bought a sample of this and was really impressed with it's complexity, cha qi, cooling feeling and aroma. The feeling this tea imparts is a noticeable drunkenness, cooling mouth with returning taste (huigan). I bought 3 cakes for my pumidor."

Шен пуэр 2007 Xiaguan Fei Tai Number 4 Premium Raw Pu-erh Tea Cake

"Заказал пробник 25гр. Описываю то, что было в пакетике. Блин плотно спрессован, ровный коричневый цвет с белесыми вкраплениями почек, лист не однородный попадаются и стебли. Не вызывает особых чувств и восторга! Если хочется удивить гостей, предложи что-то другое… Завариваем с промывкой и традиционными проливами, вода 90-95гр.,первый пролив увеличен до 15-20сек. Вкус: настой не плотный, с кислинкой, почти нет терпкости, без какой-либо горечи. Для шен пуэра вкус не выразительный, не запоминающийся, скорее легкий улун, зеленый чай. Трудно выделить что-либо доминирующее… Запах: Впечатляет, насыщенный, с нотами сухофруктов, гербария, летнего луга с костром. Цвет: настой с первого до последнего (делал 7) ровный, светлый коньяк. Послевкусие: слегка заметная вяжущая сладость, с кислинкой или легкой оскоминой.."
