This is a pressing by the China Tea Company (aka Kunming Tea Factory) from entirely first flush of spring material from Jingmai mountains in Lancang county of Simao. Most likely plantation tea, but still very potent and aromatic.

Thick, hoppy tea soup with tons floral sweetness and some light astringency/bitterness. The tea soup is a gold-orange color. The tea has a thick mouthfeel and lubricating and despite its age it still needs careful brewing so it won't be overpowering. Kunming aging (since 2007) has helped this tea maintain it's Jingmai character while also helping it mature into a much more balanced tea than it used to be. I remember trying this same tea back in 2010 and thought it much too brash to take on.

Excellent cup of tea!

"Great tea. Pu'erh is a bit if an acquired taste. It's nice to not have the over ''blended'' non-sense you purchase elsewhere. I love it!"

Daily drinker

"Fine balanced tea with good length dan depth. Lasts for many brews as it should be"

Fair For the Price

"Nothing Groundbreaking, but it's definitely decent for the price! I'd err on the side of a higher tea to water ratio as this one is a little weaker than other teas of a higher age imo. I'd say 7g minimum in a 100ml gaiwan, I ended up closer to 8/9g personally probably wouldn't buy a cake, but it's worth a sample!"
