This Yunnan Bi Luo Chun white tea is the smallest pure bud tea grown in Yunnan. A varietal that is a cross between the classic Jiangsu Bi Luo Chun and Yunnan large leaf varietal, yielding a delicate Bi Luo Chun that can grow in cooler high altitude conditions. The aroma is high with hints of fruit and fresh grass and the taste is super smooth with a subtle sweet after-taste.

Reviews

high quality

"This is one of my favorite white teas. Surprisingly, year after year, it always maintains the same high quality. I love drinking it in hot weather and in the mornings. The main thing is not to brew it with boiling water — let the water cool down a bit first."

Unbelievably delicious as cold brew

"Feels almost like a green tea, and can get super bitter if oversteeped or water allowed to stay in gaiwan. Short pours at lower temperatures can work, but my favorite thing to do with it is to cold brew in the fridge for anywhere from an hour (can then get multiple pours) to overnight - an exhilarating and complex flavor experience, one of the most delicious beverages I've ever had. Optionally can add a few longan or goji berries, or bit of tangerine peel. If overnight, may want to dilute some. After that can still get a couple more hot pours out of it but will be very mild."

Pleasantly Surprised!

"I am pretty new to white tea, and after ordering I tried a white tea sample from a different Yunnan Sourcing order that I didn't love, so despite the glowing reviews I was a bit apprehensive about this tea by the time I sat down to try it. Turns out, the reviews were spot on. The leaves have a pleasant buttery smell to them once activated, like a lighter version of what you get with longjing, and the flavor was a more complex than I was expecting for a white tea. The 70C temperature recommended in another review was enough to bring out a lot of flavor, so I'm looking forward to drinking this during the warmer months!"

Nice lil white tea

"Nice young delicate white tea. I get ‘white tea flavor’ with subtle sweet cream and hints of green tea umami & astringency. Definitely more tastes more like a white tea though. Brews well for me with cooler water around 70C and it’s a good tea excuse for using a small glass teapot."

It's good tea.

"It's good tea. I brew it in a gaiwan. Mild and delicate flavor. It reminds me of green tea. I enjoy this tea."

Q&A

Is it normal for the tea to be covered in a green dust? When I opened the bag a cloud of greenish dust came out.
Yes, it's the little downy hairs from the buds that break off and coat the inside of the pouches (static cling).
