This cake is composed entirely from first flush of spring 2023 Na Han village (Bang Dong area of Lincang) tea leaves! The tea was wet-piled in a small batch of just 600 kilograms and then separated into various leaf grades. This pressing is a blend of the tippier (smaller) and more potent leaves. The result is a very very smooth and creamy tea with a thick and lubricating mouth-feel!

Just 100 kilograms in total!

357 Grams per cake (7 Cakes per bamboo leaf tong)

This tea has been tested in a certified laboratory for 404 pesticides, and is within the EU MRL limits set for those 404 pesticide residues. For a full list of the 404 pesticides we tested for and more information about MRL testing and the EU Food and Safety commission click on this link.

Exceptional Ripe

"An exceptional ripe with a very smooth and rich mouthfeel. The flavor is full and complex that is less woody than most Ripes regardless of age that I have enjoyed. This tea is more expensive than I would normally buy, however this is the rare Exception that I feel well worth the price."

Amazing

"I received a 25g sample of this from an order I placed back in March (currently June, so about 3 months ago). I wish I hadn't waited so long before trying it, as it is now sold out and I am unable to order more! I would ABSOLUTELY buy more of this and recommend others to do the same, even an entire tong depending on the price point, in a heartbeat (or if a 2025 version comes out). The middle steeps of this tea have an amazing complexity that I have found it difficult to find in younger shou pu'ers. The tastes of frutiness (for me, I get sweet luxardo cherries) and slight spices are fronted, and you get a mellow creaminess on the back. There is absolutely no "fishiness" from the wet piling noticable whatsoever that you get in lower end Pu'ers, which I am very sensitive to. Lastly, the mouthfeel is thick in a way that carries over into the creaminess on the back of the sip. Cha Qi is excellent, as one would expect from a higher end shou. I wonder if this tea were allowed to age ~15-20 years, how the "aged taste" would contribute to this complexity. Honestly, trying this tea has encouraged me to branch out into Lincang Pu'ers, as I have mostly been drinking Menghai area varietals (I find menghai varietals with "aged taste" to be a very fair price point, but the complexity on this tea is really something special). It has also given me reason to try more of the YS brand pu'ers, which I now have no doubt will also surprise me in quality."

Amazing ripe

"Probably my favorite ripe of the year. It's so thick and smooth while also packing plenty of flavor. I was getting dark notes of chocolate and coffee, but without any of the bitterness"

Well worth its price

"This struck me as the most lubricating/creamy ripe I've tasted in a while, combined with a cherry like fruityness in the taste. Since it's not pressed too tightly I could easily pry loose bits of the cake while preserving whole leaves. Brewed with water that has a little higher minerality (70-80 mg/L) will really bring out the lubricating creamyness of this tea. If you use water on the lower side (45 mg/L) you'll have a more pronounced fruity taste to enjoy."

Wonderful tea

"Very sweet, very creamy, very smooth. This tea has a thick, creamy texture and you also get fruity notes like cherry and blackberry. You won't find a lot of wood in this one. I bought 6 tea cakes with 4 ot them being Ripes, this was my favourite out of them. This is one of these teas you won't need to sample in my opinion, it's just that good and won't disappoint."
