We are excited to offer this premium ripe pu-erh cake made entirely from Spring 2019 Bu Lang mountain material. First flush material was collected from several Bu Lang villages and fermented for 46 days. After fermentation was completed, the tea was dried and graded. We blended the various grades to create a balance recipe comprising of tippy golden buds and heavier grade Te Ji, 1,3, and 5 leaves. The term "Hui Run" refers to the sweet, slippery and soothing feeling that lingers in the mouth and throat even after the tea drinking session has ended.

357 grams per cake (7 cakes per bamboo leaf tong)

Only 150 kilograms in total available!

Hui Run Nice Job!

"Ordered the Hui Run Pu’ erh and it arrived in a reasonable amount of time the tea cake was quality. Will buy again!"

Great ripe, western style

"I am relatively new to Pu-Erh but two decades all other tea drinker. This is one of my first pu-erhs purchased. Since then, I have tried about 20+ different ripe and raw, aged and new pu-erhs. I am also new to gong fu brewing. Although I enjoy gong fu brewing, my heart belongs to western tea brewing usually with sugar and sometimes with a splash of milk. Most of the reviews here are based on gong fu and some grandpa brewing that I have read. I thought that a different brew style might add to the breadth of the reviews available. Interestingly, a Tou Cha ripe pu-erh is what intrigued and bewitched me after never really understanding and shying away from pu-erh. Boy was I wrong! Now, when I have gone back to the original pu-erh that I first started, I find it very average. With that said, this pu-erh is excellent. I agree with the taste profiles mentioned above. For me, it is smooth, relaxing and each sip begs for another. For the record, my typical western brewing technique for ripe pu-erh is 8g into a 16oz mug infuser using 95-100 C filtered water brewed for 3-4 minutes on first infusion and 4-5 minutes for a second."

Exact tea I was looking

"Exact tea I was looking for ! Smooth and nice sweat tea soup. Last long"

Tasty and rich

"A good, satisfying ripe pu-erh. Medium-thick body that develops a mouth-coating olive oil quality. Dry leaves have no off scents, just some typical ripe smell. The aroma of the brewed tea is mouth-watering, with a roasted aroma. Those roasty notes come through in the flavor (not a smokey roast, but like medium-roast coffee, hojicha, or toasted grains, e.g., buckwheat). This flavor can almost become like a grilled-meat umami taste in some steeps. That is combined with an earthiness and a light sweetness that develops a Chinese red date character along with some juicy tartness. Very little bitterness or astringency. Moderate throat-warming effect. Body/mind effects are energizing with alertness, but pleasant and non-jittery. Very easy on the stomach. I'd recommend this for anyone, but especially for someone looking to switch from coffee!"

Dark,delicious and motivating.

"Love this puerh tea, the taste is great and has no fishy taste that most are concern about. Great drink for the morning and the energy isn’t overwhelming but definitely stimulating."

Creamy sipper

"I brewed this "grandpa" style, which is how I usually enjoy shou pu-erh after a meal. This is a good ripe. Quite creamy, luscious broth. The taste develops a rich mushroomy flavor as it steeps, and light sweetness comes out like red dates. There's a bit of roasty flavor that reminds me of powdered hojicha. The dry leaf and early part of the steep has a touch of typical fermentation/storage aroma (it tends to remind me of wet dog)--not at all offensive to me, and it should dissipate as this young tea ages, but I mention it nonetheless. Body effects (YMMV): warming to the stomach and good for digestion, pleasant and calming energy with a touch of alertness to keep you from falling into a post-meal stupor, A great choice to enjoy after eating."

fantastic ripe

"What an amazing tea. I ordered a sample of this and definately have it on my list to buy as a full cake. The steeps start off with a sweet malt, creamy flavor, with hints of oatmeal and baked bread. Further steeps move on to a cherry like aftertaste, which lingers quite long in your mouth after drinking. The tea has a punchy Cha Qi energy, ideal for drinking when doing some work. A soothing feeling in the throat with a slight tingling sensation remains. Absolutely lovely."

Daily Drinker

"I have enjoyed "Hui Run" from other years and this is definitely a daily drinker. I believe this will age very nicely."
