This is a Gong Ting grade Ripe pu-erh tea fermented using spring 2007 Jing Mai mountain material. The tea has been stored in a loose form in Menghai since that time. Hai Lang tasted more than 20 different gong tings before deciding to use this tea to press these beautiful 200 gram cakes. The brewed tea is a bright deep red-wine color! The taste is smooth and with a sweet after-finish with hints of sugarcane! This has already lost most of its "dui wei" and is ready to drink now. Further aging will make this cake even more flavorful and textured! Limited Quantity!

Notes: Nei Fei (embedded ticket) is written "Ban Zhang" in chinese, this was a printing mistake that was not found until after compression. This is Jing Mai ripe tea!

Producer: Hai Lang Hao

Fishy fishy

"Although the description says this pu'erh has lost most of its dui wei, I find it has a strong fishy taste/smell even after 3 rinses. By the 5th brew that unpleasantness is gone and it starts to shine. It is indeed a dark, deep, strong pu'erh once you get past the initial unpleasantness. Really feels more like drinking coffee and might even be nice with cream (I have not tried this). This is quite far away from some very nice pu'ers I've had from Yunnan Sourcing and I regret going straight for the cake without trying a sample first."

Would recommend if you’re into

"Would recommend if you’re into shou teas on the tippy end of the spectrum. Pungent, thick, bitter dark cocoa, with smooth sweetness. Cooling spearmint mouthfeel in later steeps. Stimulating energy. I prefer larger grade material, but enjoyed this gong ting tea."
